I begun to download a few games for my PC lately, and then one night I closed the lid on my laptop, put her on standby and left it as usual.. Anyway....the other night as I was watching tv, my laptop switched itself back on and started up....I don’t get it...
Has this anything to do with me downloading games? For it never happened before, and I noticed my computer runs a lot slower ever since I downloaded those games
When I bought this laptop, it came with – Windows Vista.and I so hate it..could that have anything to do with it?
I am at a loss here to be honest...

Maybe there was a virus that was dowloaded, along with the games.
Your computer will run more slowly if there is a virus at work behind the scenes.
I think you can get a free scan by going the Trend Micro virus scan site, Norton Antivirus, or McAfee sites.

When I go to heaven, I hope to find out if all the people I gave directions to made it to their destination.

Try AVG Free, we use it at work and it's pretty freaking awesome. I also use SpyBot S&D, and CCleaner to clean up.
BUT I think it's a Vista problem, my laptop did the same thing. Couldn't, for the life of me, figure out what was going on with it. It'd randomly come out of hibernation for no reason, even when I had updates turned off, so I just don't know.
It could be an underlying major problem though, because two years after I bought my lappy... it died. Motherboard fried, $300 to repair. :/ Third time it sizzled out too, two times before the HDD broke (how the crap does the reader arm in a HDD break?) and then the HDD just pooted out of existence. If it isn't your updates waking up your laptop, definitely run scans. Lots of scans.
I'm not a computer whizz so I bet someone else will be of better help. Just my two cents.

Its a corruptable media file on your hard drive
My brothers laptop did the same thing
Its a dell so they fixed it
Knock it off then turn it back on b4 the window thingy comes on tap f12
You should come upon a dignostics screen(don,t know if this works with all pcs)
U should get a Number of options
One should be something to do with your Driver Disk you got with the pc
U shoul put that disk in and click the option
U should be able to do tests on your hard drive there
