Hey Geri Posted Image Sorry you're having such a hard time with this last update... I had a problem with it too.. my machine blue screened during the updates and I got that popup for Office too.

Protostar has the right answer here, and the easiest one. Do a system restore, then do the updates again, and it should be fine. Mine was. Posted Image

Ohh so you got the same pop up message..ok a system restore is all I can do then i'll do it.....if only I can recall the date before this happened lol

The only issue I've had with the recent updates (and I'm going to state that I can't 100% confirm that it's related to the recent updates), is that when I start up the comp or restart it takes way longer at the loading vista screen(the screen with the green bar moving back and forth that says "Microsoft Corporation" underneath); it takes approximately 1 and a half to 2 minutes on average.

Not that big of an issue considering I only turn off or restart my comp when I have to.

Yeah, mine takes a fair time to boot as well though I haven't timed it.
I'm sure it's down to Vista being such a big OS with daft gimmiky gadgets that use up more resources than necessary, like the sidebar, which I disabled as well.
I also use a selective start up,where I've prevented some programs from loading when booting up (i.e MSN messenger)and I think this helps speed it up slightly.
If I can afford it, I'm going to get Windows7 nxt year,a friend is using the trial version and he reckons it's quite good "Better than bloody Vista anyway!"

perhaps you would need to find some software that will support your music equipment on vista.

It's not the software that's the issue and why should I have to run out and buy new hardware when it works perfectly fine on XP? That's pressure marketing and I don't roll like that. :D

I wholeheartedly agree. :tu: I haven't had any problems with Vista unless you count the fact that I hate it. Isn't the Windows 7 upgrade supposed to come out sometime in Oct. in the US?

Since the last lot of vista updates my computer is slower at booting up too. The weird thing is, the set of vista updates from several months ago actually speeded it up. Previous to that, I was having lengthy boot ups :/
