I think its clear something is very odd is happening in our skys and chances are some alien civilization has visited the earth. I also beleive the government has more info then we know , how much more im not sure. There does seem to be alot of evidence that something really weird crashed at Roswell but I cant say im totally convinced it was a ufo. For being so advanced ufos seem to crash alot. Some crashed "ufos" haft to be top secret aircraft. There is very believable people that tell of alien abductions but im not convened at all their memories are true. If aliens are so far advanced how do we know they aren't implanting false memories ? The aliens are our gods stuff is to out there for me. There is no evidence of that and new age aspect of the ufo phenomenon makes me wonder if the government cover up is a good thing.

In an infinite universe there are infinite possibilities.

I have no problem believing in alien life, alien visitation and crafts, or that some crashed. I'm certainly not a conspiracy theorist, however. I don't think the government is perpetrating some massive Men-in-Black-style cover-up.

I believe that aliens have visited us...but I've never witnessed anything firsthand. Some friends have...you know the deal.
I'm just so ready for tangible proof on the matter, it's very frustrating!! I have my theories of who and what aliens are and I don't think they want to hurt us. I definetely believe but it's a hollow, useless belief without evidence. I guess that's why I don't focus a whole lot of energy on trying to determine what's true and whats not about the reports of sightings. Hopefully someday soon we will have all the answers...unless there INFACT is NO alien life out there. Then we'll just continue chasing our tails on this subject until we develop the technology it takes to explore the universe ourselves.

How far does my belief in UFOs go? Well, I do believe that there are UFOs, but I'm not sure sure what they are. I think they may have, and may be, visiting or have visited this planet, I don't think I'd say categorically that the absence of firm hard evidence means that they haven't, and I'm not sure whether some of the most well known incidents really have been entirely satisfactorily debunked; but one thing I really don't believe, since there's no evidence whatsoever apart from people's imagination, is that aliens are secretly co-operating with earthly governments and/or that there are secret alien bases (or indeed, secret bases of our own) or ruins of ancient civilisations on the moon. Now, other planets, perhaps, well, we'll wait & see ....

After seeing the Hubble deep field pictures of galaxies like our own but over 10 billion light years away I just cannot come to the conclusion that we're alone. To think that most of the stars in our night sky are infact galaxies, each with their own night sky like ours...it almost seems like a mathematical certainty that there is other life out there.

Using the term "UFO" to mean ET - I think we've been visited, I doubt they would have got anywhere near the surface to crash however. I think the most compelling is the 1952 Washington incident...Quite hard to produce a good fake there, and it was in a heavily enforced no-fly zone.

I think the governments of the world probably have a little more information than we do. However I don't think their reasons for keeping it back are sinister. I would imagine some documents contain performance statistic of the aircraft tracking an object or something similar. Plus I think the governments might worry about claims from opposition parties about wasting public money into UFO research and investigation when there's things closer to home that need attention.

I agree...and I don't think the gov'ts of the world are hiding a huge conspiracy. Infact, I tend to think that gov't officials are just as curious as we regular folk are about aliens. Yes, they most likely DO have more evidence or information than they let on, but I think SOMETIMES...I think that the US gov't may be doing test flights of secret flying crafts(military-top secret)...and when they crash or are seen...the gov't does a song and dance to cover THAT up. I would say that situation probably accounts for a nice amount of the sightings reported!

I just think we have more evidence of ghosts and the paranormal...at our fingertips, currently! I am fascinated in ghosts...and I watch all the shows and listen to any friend who tells a ghost story I can believe. But, Aliens...for me, the subject is so much more vague and the eyewitness accounts are mostly unsubstansiated. With the paranormal(ghosts)...we can do investigations and people can say..."yeah, I experienced the same thing, just like you said...and here's the scientific evidence we've acquired in the process!"

But, with UFO sightings...they're here and then GONE...you can't so easily go back to the same location and duplicate an experience. It's literally something we kind of have to shrug away...with lots of questions...and so few answers...if any!!! From the eyewitnesses of UFOs...how do we discern the crazies from the real witnesses? Don't even start with hypnotic regression...PLEASE!!! I'm over that nonsense, seriously!! I need CNN coverage! I need a press conference from UN officials, etc! Even a personal experience wouldn't satisfy me, truly! Maybe momentarily...but it wouldn't take long before I realized that what I saw...ain't gonna be the eyewitness account that changes the world's view on the subject of ET's being real and (maybe even all around us... :alien: )lol!

So, I still say finding that universal truth that aliens exist...would be a far more huge discovery for planet earth, in general!

I have no problem believing in life on other planets... But i have a problem believing that life is here.

In order for that to work, not only would the concept of traveling the huge distances have to be conquered, but the basic question of "Why?" would have to be answered. Let's face it - there are two ways aliens could travel to the Earth from another planet :

1. Take millions of years in huge ships to get here
2. Open up some sort of wormhole system to travel very quickly

in the first case, one would think that they would make their presence known - after all, they are here for the rest of their lives so it doesn't really make much sense to remain hidden.

In the second case, we would sense those wormholes popping open and closed (Let's face it - the Earth is studying the universe every moment of the day - we'd probably sense a sudden burst of particles somehow when one opened or closed).

So, unless there is a third option, there is no way aliens are visiting us.

But here is the kicker - we are still left with a lot of anecdotes that can't be explained away... Anecdotes are not evidence. But when one has a mountain of anecdotes that does point to the idea of something happening - something that ought to be investigated to be understood.

Bottomline - I believe in alien life (The universe is way too big not to harbor something alien). I do not think that they are visiting us. But I am not close-minded enough to discount all the sightings - there is something happening. But what it is has yet to be determined.

I don't think evidence of visitation is quite that clear but I do agree there is very likely other life out there in the Universe. All UFO evidence is in the form of anecdotes including and especially the famed incident near Roswell Army Airfield. What I find more amazing than frequent UFO crashes is the fact that military units seem to be able to arrive so quickly after and spirit the wreckage away not leaving a trace. Further, many "crash sites" were witnessed by civilians before the military arrived but no one ever thought to grab a fragment of wreckage or alien body part for later review. That just seems contrary to human nature. As far as top secret aircraft goes, the military and its contractors have certainly tested radical aircraft in plain sight.

The experiences of abductees are consistent with a disorder called sleep paralysis. Despite the bulk of reports, no verifiable physical evidence that anyone has been abducted has ever been presented. Again, all of the evidence in anecdotal. The victims undoubtedly believe their stories and stand by them but that is also consistent with sleep paralysis. Curiously, one of the most UFO active countries in the world (Mexico) reports NO abductions.

I think that the basic fallacy in the OP's post was that the multiple anecdotes mean that there is reason to believe that an alien civilization is visiting Earth....

Yes - there is ample reason to suspect that something strange is in the skies of Earth. But it is a rather large leap to decide to say that it is a civilization from another planet causing it - that is akin to wadding up everything we know about physics, tossing it over one's shoulder and saying "What else could it be?"

I think that we will find that the answer to what is happening in our skies is much more strange than just another planet visiting us...

They could 100,000 years more advanced then us , just think how far we've come in last 600 years. Its a mistake to limit another world to our understanding of science . We dont even know if wormholes exist so I can you say we would sure to see it ? 150 ago if you told someone their great great grand kids would see a man walk on the moon, they would you were nuts.

I find it very interesting that stories of abductions are rare in Mexico ( google did bring some stuff ) but Mexicans suffer from sleep paralysis also, why is that would they not report " abductions " experiences ?

The experiences during sleep paralysis seem to be tied to the culture of the people. In Japan people often report an old woman standing beside the bed. In Europe there is the famous old hag theme. Other cultures report various creatures sitting on chests or holding down limbs. It is all part of the same phenomenon. I agree, it is strange that abduction reports in Mexico are rare.
