<strong class='bbc'></strong>
A miracle has been reported in Poland after a piece of cummunion wafer that fell in to water during a mass allegedly transformed in to what a medical university proffessor is claiming to be human heart tissue.

"The Catholic Church in Poland is investigating claims of a miracle after a piece of communion wafer was reported to have been transformed into human heart tissue after falling into water during a mass. "

Even if its not real heart tissue it was close enough science had to investigate it . What are the odds something like would happen. It still kinda a miracle. God will never give such absolute proof that faith isnt needed .

No, just a bad scientist who let her beliefs get in the way investigated it and ignored rational conclusions. She has simply shown she is not good at her job.

To believe this story, we'd have to accept the statements of

a ) the Catholic Church, which obviously would like to prove the absence of a hoax,
b ) a religious scientist who certainly has motives for fabricating such a story (publicity, funding, confirmation of beliefs, et c.),
and c ) the local police, who would benefit from the tourist dollars such a miracle would rake in; they also may just be poor investigators.

It may be an intentional hoax by the female scientist or an accidental case of confirmation bias, but there's certainly something amiss with the story.

To gaze upon the firmament with wondrous, vast consciousness; and for a moment to live amongst the stars as if I had a thousand years thence—to expunge mortal anxiety and to simply marvel in that instant of existence—is the nearest I shall ever come to eternity.

I agree.

What a waste of a miracle! A piece of bread turning into heart tissue. I should think that if God wanted to make a miracle he would make a blind person see. Maybe next time Jesus manifests by appearing on someone's cheese sandwich we can ask him why God chose to do this.

Honestly, the Catholic Church needs to modernize.

I expect this will spend the next 800 years floating in formaldehyde in a solid gold reliquary somewhere.

Sounds to me like some unfortunate little creature fell into the dough mixing machine. Or maybe there was a kitchen accident somewhere. I lost a fingertip in a pepperoni making machine once.

What a gross sounding miracle. And how dirty did that holy water have to be to contaminate a cracker to the point of mistaking it for living tissue. This whole story makes me squick.

I'm a believer, not catholic, but I also question this. I want several teams of scientists to run tests on this tissue as well as polygraphs of the test subjects. If this is a miracle, let's figure out how it was done. Unraveling an aspect of the technology of God would be something ground breaking and revolutionary. If it's all a hoax though, the responsible parties will be exposed, and meh.

Squicky is the right word.

And what good is heart tissue doing in holy water anyway? Hardly a 'miracle', is it?

Why wouldn't he? Not being convinced that god is real doesn't make you a bad person, it just means your reason and logic forces you to conclude he's not real.
