Come on... who here doesn't have a camera?
Hell, of all the people who know who doesn't carry a phone with a camera in it?
or an iPod?
Or a camera?

They've become part of the things everyone carries all the time.
So the lack of photos of modern cryptids, of modern sightings at the very least, is irksome at the least and sign of blatant lying on the other.

i think when you see a cryptid or what ever you are usually not going to pull out a camera by instinct. your just going to stare and maybe even run out of fear

...And the photos and videos we do get are usually of dubiously low quality. :hmm:
To gaze upon the firmament with wondrous, vast consciousness; and for a moment to live amongst the stars as if I had a thousand years thence—to expunge mortal anxiety and to simply marvel in that instant of existence—is the nearest I shall ever come to eternity.

I have a theory about a related phenomenon. It would seem that those cyrptids who do get photographed employ a self defense mechanism that I call the cloak of blurriness.

My other theory is that there are simply no cryptids to photograph.

It is taking a while for this penny to drop :)

I carry a still cam whenever I venture into the great outdoors, one with 10x optical zoom, a moving cam with 24x optical zoom and my phone has a 2 mega pixel camera in it that takes reasonable photos up close. I take then on every Yowie Hunt I go on, but I seem to get the most use of them at the Indy/Super GP when all those friendly ladies hang over the balconies and smile and wave. I have taken some nice shots of Galahs as well ;)

What if you discover a pink furry tiny little thing that looks like a Guinea Pig?

I just want to point out that we have CRYSTAL clear pics of giant squid... and crystal clear pics of a mother sperm whale with two calves... which is rare to see, and on top of that, she's eating a giant squid. This is in the ocean. Where people don't live.

I don't carry a camera around, nor do I have a phone or iPod. Your argument is now invalid.

I have to throw out that I also don't carry a camera with me everywhere I go. It's a good habit I want to pick up, but no. My phone is so old it doesn't have a camera, and I didn't know that iPods could take photos (but regardless, don't have one of those either).

But I'm also with Catutie on this one. I wouldn't pull out a camera first thing if I were surprised by something, like a cryptid, even if I had one. It just wouldn't be my first thought. Like encountering any animal, my personal first thoughts would probably be to get out of there.

I don't own a camera, cell phone, iPod/MP3 player of any kind, or anything else capable of capturing photographs or videos. >_>

Cute :D

There are many things that would not spook people, the Okapi was not scary even when it was discovered. I agree with you, I have no idea why people freak so much at the mention of Biff. I always thought it was just another cop-out?
Incredible fear just in his presence? If my wife I could understand but a Hominid that is supposedly shy?

I saw those photos Neo. Magnificent to say the least.

I have several camera's, but I cannot afford the films. What I use these days is a toy digital camera. At the moment the batteries are exhausted, so my photographs are lost. It was only good for photographing lamp posts up to three metres anyway - and since I rinsed it under the tap it produces only blurry pictures...
