Josh Gates sounds like Kermit the Frog. (IMHO) *loves him anyway*

Hmm... I wouldn't consider them "shrouded in mystery". I do consider them my uncles, my grandpa, my great grandpa, my cousins, my sons, etc. :D

They are more of a "boys club" that does good in the area that has some secrets (not so much these days) rather than some scary secret society.

It is one thing to have an open mind, everyone should.
It is another thing to open your mind and slap a "For Rent/Best Offer/First Come First Served" sign on it.

Just because it is a mystery to YOU doesn't make it unexplained.

Well, my great grandfather was a member I know. He's been dead for fifteen years though so I can't ask him much.

Every single Freemason I've ever met was a Christian.

That's not completely true. There are a couple here in the town that I work in that I have heard of through a co-worker who belong to teh Rotary Club. Sounds kind of ridiculous doesn't it? :D

I know a couple - or rather I know a person who knows a couple - seem to do a lot of work for charity. Never heard of anything nefarious.
I love you, Dr Johnson, and I want to have your babies...

My Father is a low level Mason, and my Grandpa is a 32 degree mason. You get him drunk, and he will tell you some stories.
Some things are true, even if you dont believe them.

Well I used to date a mason. He wasn't a lot of fun. He was so tired out by the end of his work day he didn't want to do anything.

I'm guessing this was a very short relationship then.

I know you firmly believe in the New World Order in a Biblical sense, but do you believe the Freemasons are one of many secret societies behind it? Isn't 32nd degree the second highest? If so, do you believe your grandfather is part of Satan's plot to establish the beast's kingdom? If you don't think the Freemasons are behind it, then never mind. But if you do, it seems to me that would force you to believe that your grandfather is part of a Satanic agenda.

It is the process of rising through the grades which reveals that the Masons are not Christian in nature. It seems OK because they believe in a universal diety which has many aspects which seem superior to the Christian version. In order to get to these levels you have to be considered to be the sort of person who will not freak out that you have moved slightly sideways in your understanding of the Divine. The only people who could consider the Masonic Divinity as Demonic are a rather shallow bunch of fundamentalist Christians who firmly believe that Muslims are devil worshipers as well, despite the fact that they worship exactly the same flavour of Divinity. It is not the Masons who are the problem in this regard - it is the Christians.

However any group which actively recruits the great and good and influential and acts in secret (even from its own members as this is the nature of the grading system), has to be suspect in its intentions and overall aims. I believe it is a tool of the NWO and most members are totally unaware of this.
