Its an interesting article and definitely makes you think about things. The Sumerian's history or legends as we put it are fascinating though we only call it legend because we never saw it and although they wrote about it we don't believe them? I mean the story does sort of explain how we suddenly evolved at such an accelerated rate. And if the Sumerian's did just make these stories up then they where very ahead of there time. Also do you not wonder why gold is such a limited resource on this planet is it not possible that an alien species where just going from planet to planet to gather all the rare valuable resources?

How does the "sumerians"come into picture here? The story over here is about tellinger's impossible find of a so called uber ancient civilization and he himself has mentioned sumer in a passing reference only.

I suggest that before posting anything, read what the Original post is about.
"The most ridiculous concept ever perpetrated by Homo Sapiens is that the Lord God of Creation, Shaper and Ruler of the Universes, wants the sacharrine adoration of his creations, that he can be persuaded by their prayers, and becomes petulant if he does not recieve this flattery. Yet this ridiculous notion, without one real shred of evidence to bolster it, has gone on to found one of the oldest, largest and least productive industries in history." - Robert Heinlein

Oh, come now. Clearly, the implication is that 22nd Century Japan will develop time travel. Sigh... such cynicism in one so young!

LOL!
Person,

I (and, I'm sure, others) wish you'd hang in this section more often!

Of all of the above, only the bolded portion is true. And that part is opinion, though it's one I share.

And how did you arrive at this opinion?

That's about as absurd as it gets.

Why gold is (fairly) rare is easily understood. Why not look into it yourself rather than assume it is something everyone "wonders" about?

After reading the article, there doesn't seem to be much evidence that the civilization is as old as they think it is. I could be wrong, but using Orion to predict how old it is seems like bunk science to me especially since they can't even say if the monuments they found were even supposed to reflect anything astrological. Humans 200,000 years ago were probably more concerned with putting rocks in "pretty shapes" than studying the constellations. Yeesh.

That is of course, if you are using Sitchins explanation of the Sumerians.

Great, more Nibiru nonsense.

Yep. I doubt this won't show up (or hasn't already) on ancient astronauts books and be used as another "evidence"...personally I don't believe it until I can get the information from a more reliable source, and even then the results would have to be accepted by scientists around the world, otherwise I would think it's just someone who wants another proof that aliens came to earth thousands of years ago and helped humans develop "advanced" cities.

Although I share the idea that sumerian history and legends are interesting, I fail to see what it has to do with the subject at hand?
And how do you get the impression that we "suddenly evolved at an accelerated rate"? We didn't. The only thing that seemed to have accelerated at all is human socio-economical development, once we went from hunter-gatherer, to settlements and farming and then to settlements and cities.

Enough nibiru / 2012 / nonsense already
