My Eden

We walk through wooded country
On a crisp and misty dawn.
A doe leaps high across the path
Followed closely by her fawn.

To the field beyond the treeline
In the valley I've never seen.
She holds her course until they're lost
To an endless sea of green.

With islands of wildflowers
And their choirs of honey bees.
Sing of lands with lasting sunshine
Gentle souls can rest with ease.

The warmth of day surrounds us
With an enchanting silver gleam.
We cannot stay forever
I know its just a dream.

Whenever I read your poetry, it's always like I'm experiencing the whole scene myself. Great work.

Thats what I like the most about reading poetry, even more so, when writing it. Imagination is infinite.
Thanks Hissie.

This is wonderful, you really put the reader right there in the poem.
Curiosity is insubordination in its purest form.

Sane adulthood is entrapment in a world without magic, in a real world.

Thank you schizoid, it would be such a waste if only I could experience it.Posted Image

Thats the cruel nature of dreams, I believe.
They show you your hearts greatest desires, only to rip them away upon awakening.Posted Image
