Hey,

I had pre-view tickets to the movie the fourth kind last night. Don't Bother! Its supposed to be about some alien abductions that happened in Nome Alaska. They try to hype you up with "real archive footage" Oh this is disturbing be prepared... I won't ruin it for those who want to see it but, if you're going expecting to see some grays snatch people up and perform experiments wait for another movie!

fourth kind fake?

People go missing in Nome, Alaska. The FBI investigates and determines they got drunk and lost. Hollywood makes a movie claiming that they were abducted and have "archival footage" that they will lace into the film. The "archival footage" however is simply part of the movie, and the claims that they're from an actual study done in Alaska is an outright lie. It's a shame too. If they'd just played it off as a fictional movie about a psychologist investigating disappearances, and not made claims of it being true, I'd have gone an seen it. The movie itself looks nice and creepy.

Just got back from it I was going in expecting a blairwitch type thing. There are bout 5 "actual footage" scenes the movie claims is real. But I dont fall for things so easily. I thought it was a good movie though way better than blair witch. But you know its all just a movie in the end.
i do not believe in believing

why is this being hyped as real footage? are the producers hoping that people won't recognize milla jovovich? the whole marketing campaign for the movie makes no sense

They aren't claiming Milla Jovovich is in the real footage. They're claiming that she's acting out a character scene in the real footage that they're supposedly splicing into the film. Jovovich even breaks the fourth wall herself in a trailer to perpetrate their lies.

I havn't heard it being called real footage,
but i have heard that it's based on actual events.
oh, and BTW,
why put milla jovovich in it?
OK,Ok, the resident evil films are ok, and all in all she's pretty hot but she can't act extreme emotions,
she just reaches a limit and then it looks "put on"!
I'm saying this because from the trailer, it would appear she should be somewhat, scared,,,,,,,,,no?
she can only act flirty and/or annoyed........ not scared, hurt or sad.
peace out!

I just got back from seeing it...overall it was an ok film but it didn't blow me away. I would have rather watched it on DVD.
Brings nothing new that we have not heard or read about before and no way is any of that "actual footage" real, you can tell its been very cleverly put together and edited.

so can u find these so called actual footage on youtube? i still think Fire in the Sky is the best alien/ufo movie based on actual events

Not that I am aware of...

(beware this next part may contain spoilers)

I actually done a little digging around the net last night after seeing the film. The actual town of Nome in Alaska does not look anything like it does in the film. The film was apparently shot in Bulgaria hence why there are huge mountains and big trees everywhere. In one of the pieces of "footage" you get to see in the film you get a glimpse of what appears to be the silhouette outline of a UFO moving above the Dr Tyler's house but in the footage there is also the silhouette of big trees like you see during the rest of the movie. Now take a look at photos of the real town of Nome...can you see big trees or mountains anywhere like in the supposedly "real footage" from the movie? I surely cant!

Now I know that the film makers have dramatised things to look better but the real footage they claim to show doesn't fit with the real town of Nome

Apparently the residents of Nome think the film is ridiculous, and that the number of people who have gone missing is no different from any other town in Alaska, plus the fact there is no record of Dr Tyler ever visiting or practising psychology in the town.

Just a good Hollywood spin on normal events dressed up to draw in an audience...

If these videos were really footage I am sure they would have popped up by now, why would it take a hollywood director to uncover them?

yeah i wasn't a big fan of this one. sort of had Mothman Prophecies feel to it.. sort of. i wouldn't waste anyone's money on this one. This whole based on a true story is bull and like someone mentioned above, this footage (had it been real) would have surfaced long before Hollywood would've gotten their hands on it. There is "real" footage from a police dashboard cam in the movie. i dn't know but i think something like that would have come out long ago.
