Former NYC Police Commissioner Kerik pleads guilty

By JIM FITZGERALD, Associated Press Writer Jim Fitzgerald, Associated Press Writer

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik pleaded guilty Thursday to lying to the White House and tax crimes in a deal that could send him to prison for about 2 1/2 years.

Kerik, who was police commissioner when New York was attacked on 9/11, won glowing reviews for his leadership. He eventually was nominated for the Homeland Security post in 2004 but withdrew as corruption allegations mounted. The lies to the White House occurred during that vetting process.

"Guilty," he said eight times in a firm voice as he appeared in the suburban courtroom.

U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara issued a statement calling Thursday "a sad day," but added, "No one is above the law."

I was expecting a thread like this after the one about the cop getting killed. :P

Yes, there are bad cops, bad doctors, bad firemen, bad Christians, bad gays, Athiests, Muslims, blacks, whites, women, men, etc,...

thats nypd for you. one of the most pathetic police forces in the us. in the last 2 years alone from whats reported on the news. they shot a killed a guy for being black the day before his wedding. in my police station alone in one of the boroughs in nyc they sodomized a man who was arrested for hitting his girlfriend. they took him back to the station and a bunch of officers sodomized and beat him to a point he ended up being sent to the hospital bleeding and needing surgery.
last week all of the officers in my neighborhood in nyc who were off duty all went out to a bar togeather to drink. while they were having fun at the bar they allowed their fellow police officer to get into a car drunk and drive. well the officer got into a car and ran over and killed a woman. they said he had a high alchohol level. he was with alteast 10 officers and none of them could tell him not to driv drunk?
this is nypd for you, their true colors begin to shine.
there is a disabled woman in my neighborhood who is being harrased by the nypd and she caught it on youtube and thew refused her medical help.
they tazered and killed a man. tazering does kill people
