Wait a minute here, it went down like this: The dog nipped the guy, the guy didn't have the sense to keep the bite clean, or to seek medical help when infection set in. So, this means the dog should be blamed for his death? Amazing, literally amazing.

My thoughts too. It actually amazes me that the article is written from the slant it is.

I agree. To me the woman behaved appropriately and I pity her for losing her spouse. The journalist is trying to blow a tragic accident into a major issue to sell more papers or something. She needs to leave this poor family alone.

No the guy got blood poisoning..this could've happened if he had just cut himself or stepped on something. The bacteria caused the wound to become infected and it spread. He should have went to his doctor once the infection started.
The woman did the right thing by keeping the dog. It just nipped him on accident. My dog has done that before while playing and he's not an agressive dog.

That's exactly what I was thinking. My dogs have nipped me plenty of times during play, and I alwas get my mum to check it out, and keep an eye out for infection. It's not the dogs fault this guy was an idiot

I agree; when I started reading, I thought it was going to turn out that the dog had ripped his throat out or something! My mum once stood on a thorn whilst gardening (barefoot) and was really ill with blood poisoning but she didn't have the garden ploughed up!

LOL Imagine if we all took drastic measures every time an incident like this took place...

Poor husband, but silly man, you don't shrug off or muck around with bites or infections...
