Climate change belief given same legal status as religion

Quote

An executive has won the right to sue his employer on the basis that he was unfairly dismissed for his green views after a judge ruled that environmentalism had the same weight in law as religious and philosophical beliefs.

In a landmark ruling, Mr Justice Michael Burton said that "a belief in man-made climate change ... is capable, if genuinely held, of being a philosophical belief for the purpose of the 2003 Religion and Belief Regulations".

The ruling could open the door for employees to sue their companies for failing to account for their green lifestyles, such as providing recycling facilities or offering low-carbon travel.

No, no it is not. It may be an obsession a hobby or just an interest but science is not worshiped or prayed to, well unless your religious and sick then you pray to science but come on. Science is about truth, if science lies it will be discovered. I'm more worried about people that believe a left or right wing controlled media myself.

Uh, Silver, I hate to break it to you, but science and global warming aren't really, um, related.
Whispers in the dark. Anonymous sources. Rumors. That is all it takes. After all, we all know what they [the Jews] are like, don’t we: inhuman, hardened. Capable of anything. Now all that remains is the defense, equally predictable: ‘Anti-Semitism? No, no, just criticism of Israel.’ - Mats Skogkär

No. If you really understood science you would understand why it is important. Science is not a religion, it is a way of understanding life.

You cannot compare science and religion because one actually improves the world around us. Physics is the reason why we have beautiful architecture, why we have electronics, why airplanes work etc. Chemistry is the reason why we have our medicine, every single object that man kind has created. Biology for medical research and how you are able to live even though you are going to a heart transplant. THAT is why people get defensive about science. THAT is why science is funded by the government and not religion. THAT is why many students in college study sciences. To enhance society and to learn more of the universe.

Without science say bye bye to everything you ever owned, everything that makes your life easier.

Yes, they changed the name to "Climate Change" when it appeared that more and more people were coming to the realization that the planet was actually cooling, not warming.

Now finally! They say Atheism is a belief? After this I can apply for position of Roman Pope with Vatican, and sue them if they reject my application on religious grounds.
Disclaimer: All expressed above is my personal opinion, it is always based on some input I previously received. It of course can be somehow biased. You are welcome to agree or disagree with it. In the latter case I would expect from you a substantiated alternative point of view, to be compared with the one I express.

Atheism has two definitions:

1) The belief that no god exists.
2) The lack of belief in a god's existence.

will star trek is a religion, in it's own way, to some people.
and that's sci-fi.

so climate change can be made into a religion based on the fact that there are believers and disbelievers, and money can be made from it...
