OK now I'm not sure about the ocean LOL I think I would like to live on Vancouver Island. Death toll WTH is it that dangerous there. I remember swimming off the coast of Vancouver and the rip tides trying to drag me out, kinda scary. I want to move there LOL

Well I REALLY don't recommend you actually go
in the water here, you'll probably come out with an extra eye or something. But the most danger comes from walking when the tide is out. I did one of the 'official' walks across for charity, and one of the old hands there told me a story about how when his boys were little they ran off to look at a funny shaped log stuck in the mud a few hundred yards away. They came running back to him and said "Daddy, it's not a tree, it's a man". He'd been stuck from the waist up in the mud for weeks. *shudder*
There's also quicksand (quite scary walking when the ground is moving!) and if you get caught out by the tide it comes in very fast, and even worse it can fill up around you and cut you off.
