So you will be able to go to other Dimensions just like the TV show Sliders and an episode of Dr Who, but for real?

Well...
- For Hugh's theory to work you have to explain why electric, magnetic, and gravitational fields are confined to our ``normal'' 3 dimensions.
- You then need to find some as-of-yet undiscovered force which can pass through the 4th dimension.
- You then need to find some as-of-yet undiscovered means of moving your nominally-confined-to-3D body into the 4th dimension (presumably using the above-mentioned force).
So maybe it is possible, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Hehe sepulchrave, it isn't my theory, just an idea I've heard.
Check out some of Lisa Randall's work on brane theory too, interesting stuff...
Here's an interview with her:

Right, that's a fair point.
I don't really like her theory because it seems (to me, anyway) like she doesn't have any mechanism for warping space. I'll agree that you could confine electro-weak and strong nuclear forces in 3D if our universe is in a local minimum of a very strongly curved nth (n > 3) dimensions - but what is causing this curvature? You'd have to have some ridiculously huge amount of exotic matter hanging around just beyond the edges of our universe to accomplish this.
Of course it is quite possible that I've got it all wrong.
