You put a bunch of people to find out some sort of "facts" with strange "evidence" and believe it because they are big shots and smarter then us. So to me, science is not completely real.
tell that to the people on the receiving end of a missile or a nuclear bomb going off in their face then tell me science isn't real? Also, think about how using "some" science methods and then you can find a way to produce more efficent energy through a more unstable line without worrying about it overloading on you as well. there is science out then, how you use it is souly determined on you.

  • A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Science does not say you should believe something because an authority says so.  THAT is the purvey of religion   .  Science uses evidence to discover things, and if one has the patience to actually LEARN about it it all makes perfect sense.

  • The problem with our world is that the fools are always sure about their actions and the wise always in doubt and insecure

Posted 12 November 2009 - 05:11 PM

Science is an accurate model of reality, it isn't "real" though...these are 2 different things.
For example, when we say that the model of multi-dimensions fits with our current cosmologic model, id doesn't mean
that the universe is multidimensional, it means that in our current model the introduction of dimensions solves problems and applies to our current evidence and data. Science is a code, not reality.

Gradually, we are told, step by step, men produced the arts and crafts, this and that, until they emerged into the light of history. Those soporific words "gradually" and "step by step" repeated incessantly, are aimed at covering an ignorance which is both vast and surprising.

*calls someone to repair all the broken desks*

:P

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth a war, is much worse...A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

Why can't this indecisive world of ours make up its mind on when it's going to end?
