White stags have long been associated with mythology and legend, an elusive yet magnificent beast.

King Arthur was left frustrated by his attempts to capture one, as were the Kings and Queens of Narnia, who chased the creature through the woods and found themselves tumbling out of a wardrobe.

But photographer Ken Grindle has managed to get a little bit closer, taking this picture of the animal in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire.

That is a beautiful animal. Make a nice Yule card.

:D

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Let me clarify for you:
White tigers in captivity= bad as they are result of generations of incestuous breeding aimed soley at perpetrating the white coat colour for nothing other than selfish human pleasure
white tigers in the wild= interesting as a rare natural occurence
White stag=interesting as a rare natural occurence

For anyone who has seen Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Askaban. Is this(white stag)what that is in that scene where Harry and Serious are about to be killed by those flying "Demontors", then they are saved by supposedly Harry's dad, but right before there is this glowing white deer thing. The movie made no mention to it. Just saw the movies last night.

Agreed! Would this be considered as an albino animal or is it just the fur itself that is white?

These "White Stags" are not as rare as some may think.

I saw a white stag in Real Life once when I was a kid, about 30 years ago. Saw it across a ravine on Government land. It was a exciting experience.

Here at Intel we make processors on 12 inch wafers. And, the individual processors on the wafers are called die. And, I am employed to check these die. That is why I am the DieChecker.

What a beautiful animal. Too bad the quality of the pictures isn't the best.
