Since the weather has been so atrocious up here in the North of Europe at the moment I am currently taking high dose Vit. D suppliments.
A person with a balanced diet doesn't need to worry about supplements, though. If vegan kids were eating dairy, their chances of getting rickets are greatly reduced no matter what their skin type or background. So it does come down to a dietary matter regardless. Taking supplements for the prevention or remedy to something that can be handled with diet seems a waste to me. All that tells me is that there is something seriously lacking in that particular diet.
