The debates board is back for a second season, and this time we're going to do things a little differently. The debates themselves will be very similar, however there will be a greater emphasis on debaters opting for which debates they'd like to try and who they'd like to debate with, rather than having everything chosen for them. The scoring, judging and organising side of things is also improved.

If you would like to take part in a debate, you can do so in two ways:

Organise your debate partner and chose a subject
If you would like to debate with someone on a particular subject, get in touch with that person, then once you've agreed to give it a try, tell either myself or a debate organiser and we will start a debate thread for you. This gives you freedom to take part when you like, and with whomever you like, without being asked to take part in a specific debate. You can also try a 3 way debate, or a 2v2 debate in this way, the choice is entirely up to you.

Join an organised debate
The debate organisers will from time to time start up new debate threads on the debates board, if you would like to take part in one of them, all you need to do is post a message in the debate thread to register you're interest. There will be debates started on a variety of subjects, so check the board regularly to see what debates are available.

When a debate is finished, the panel of Debate Judges will rate each participant and the results posted. The winners of each debate will go up on the scoreboard.

This time around we are not asking for a list of participants, so anyone can join in with the debates. Please however only join or organise a debate if you are serious about taking part, and are happy with the idea of discussing a topic in a formal manner.

Good luck  thumbsup.gif
