pinewengland Posted May 3, 2010 #51 Share Posted May 3, 2010 I have to say it's due to TV. that can be due to the hype" of more people looking? or as stated, more people setting at home thinking of ghosties...but that's why I think there are more reports of ghost sightings
Superglobe Posted May 3, 2010 #52 Share Posted May 3, 2010 (edited) Well, depending on one's point of view. Either A) Spirits are acting up or B ) People are watching too many ghost movies. I've always been on the fence about these kinds of things myself. edit: Haha, oops. Edited May 3, 2010 by Spain Sun
DrawingPics Posted May 4, 2010 #53 Share Posted May 4, 2010 I think my joke flew slightly over your head there. It hit my head a little but it mainly went over my head.
startover Posted May 4, 2010 #54 Share Posted May 4, 2010 Most will be lies, hallucinations or shadows, lights, dust, etc. Some will be real, but most won't be. When i see something, i check to make sure it's definitely not 1 of the above. Sometimes, i just dismiss orbs, too likely that it's just nothing... My house is haunted, when it wants to be. Some evil things have happened, but good too There were a few times i've played music and they haven't been fans Slamming doors and stomping around. Growling at me, until i growl back! Many stories in this old house... Previous owner dare not come near the house. What a wimp
Blackwhite Posted May 16, 2010 #55 Share Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) The great thing about living in Britain (other than the fact we no longer have a Labour government) is that it is often described as the most haunted country on Earth. Ghosties and ghoulies seem to be more deeply ingrained in British psyche than in any other nation. By the way, that photo of what is supposed to be a ghost of a Civil War cavalier looks impressive. Gwynbleidd Posted May 25, 2010 #56 Share Posted May 25, 2010 Do you consider this real evidence? There's a spot in the woods which I've hiked for almost 20 years and have consistently felt a strong vibe. It is on a random section of trail amidst 5 miles of trails in a 200+ acre forest. One day I examined a particular tree in this section of woods and found someone had placed a small clay amulet on the back of the tree. Now isn't this odd - a random tree in the middle of the woods and 2 people being pulled to it? I once saw what seems to be a shadow person at this tree. I had never heard of a shadow person, but after finding the amulet I started doing a lot of research and this thing - which was there for about 15 seconds - was very real. Your post made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. I'm going to research shadow ppl now.
herenow Posted December 16, 2010 #57 Share Posted December 16, 2010 Your post made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. I'm going to research shadow ppl now. Many months later and I’m finally getting back here to give an update. So much has happened, and things are still happening almost daily. I’ve learned a lot about this woods – it has been a ceremonial place for millennia, used by indigenous people for rituals, tributes and power. I’ve found more things, left for me in out-of-the-way places by someone, but I still do not know who they are or what their agenda is. I’ve been introduced to the practice of Shamanism via connections on the web and have had good success in doing what they call ‘travelling’. Lemme tell ya, there’s a lot more confirmation in this stuff than you’d ever find in a church, or temple or any other organized religion’s political structure. Every tree, rock, bug and bush on this planet has a power to it, and it’s just screaming for attention. All you have to do is listen. I’ll try to write about some of the things I’ve seen in dreams, and then found the following day in these woods.
scepticalbeliever Posted December 16, 2010 #58 Share Posted December 16, 2010 Perhaps ghosts just want their fifteen minutes of fame.

scepticalbeliever Posted December 16, 2010 #60 Share Posted December 16, 2010 I have to say it's due to TV. that can be due to the hype" of more people looking? or as stated, more people setting at home thinking of ghosties...but that's why I think there are more reports of ghost sightings Ghost Hunters, Ghost Lab, Paranormal State, Ghost Adventures are all hype that may increase mass hysteria into everyone thinking they're seeing ghosts, but they're commercialized versions. I would love to see Zak, Grant, Ryan etc come in contact with a real spirit and see who their machismo would be.
Swamptick Posted April 3, 2011 #61 Share Posted April 3, 2011 To be honest, 25 years is a pretty small sample size in terms of something like this.
Shiloh17 Posted April 3, 2011 #62 Share Posted April 3, 2011 (edited) i hope youre being sarcastic. movies and tv shows play a big part in people starting to 'experience' things. Are you serious? You don't really believe the Twilight series is a cause for this recent surge of werewolves sightings do you?
