Now some here will know that I think the Frisians - the ones who created the OLB - borrowed a lot from Viking history, and transplanted it to a time millenia earlier. Add that to what Olaus Rudbeck (see my post 6007, page 401) wrote about the grand history of Scandinavia (his true 'Atlantis') in the 17th century, and we come close to what the OLB is all about.
But I found an interesting connection between the Vikings and the Mag-/yar/i...
What did people outside Scandinavia call the Vikings?
The Spanish: Madjus (meaning "sorcerers" or "medicine men")
In the East, they are called "Rus" or "Rus". Among Arabs Madjus, bab el Madju designating "the door of the Gentiles" ( Strait of Gibraltar ) .
Curiously, the Muslims called the Vikings al-madjus, “the Magi”, because they thought they were fire-worshippers like the Persian Zoroastrians. It conjures up images of shiploads of blond rune wizards sweeping down on Muslim towns with loud galdr singing and all kinds of runic hoodoo. They slaughtered the Muslims and burnt down mosques, in true Viking fashion.
And the next pdf has lots to say about these Viking/Magi (enter "Madjus" in the search tool of the pdf / I can't copy from that pdf)):
Something else, and I don't know if I read it on your site or somewhere else, but I remember that someone said that the numerals as introduced by "Godfreyath the Vitking" (OLB) were nothing but copies from the numerals as inscribed on the Alhambra, Spain.
Combined with what I just posted about those "Madjus", it suddenly doesn't sound that farfetched anymore....
Lol, I didn't read about those numerals on your site, it was Ottema himself who recognized an Arabic inscription on the Alhambra as cognate to the OLB numerals:
