Personally, I believe in the possibility that ghosts exist.

As with any phenomenon outside of accepted science, about 90% of 'ghost' evidence is explicable by everything from mistaken natural occurrences to human manipulativity. It's the remaining 10% that deserves closer scientific scrutiny. Unfortunately, this seems to have been thrown out the window in favour of 'psychics', 'shadow people' and other such sillyness.

Also, the theory of existance of human consciousness beyond the physical brain must be backed up by a theoretical mechanism. Evolution is explained through the process of natural selection. I have yet to hear one sound theoretical mechanism that explains the formation, existance, behaviour, appearance, etc. of ghosts. Oh, I've heard dozens, but they all involve 'energy', 'vortexes' or 'Heaven, Hell, and purgatory'. These are not scientific properties.

Until the afterlife's existance is proven such that it becomes a feature of mainstream science, I will continue to live my life as though it is the only one I'll get: thoughtfully, responsibly, and to the fullest.

Thank you all for your attention and time.

There are no ghosts and I know that bec "I" never seen or heard one.

you can't use that as a reason, "there are no ghosts and i know this since i haven't seen or heard one", by the same theory a black hole can't exist, nor other galaxies nor bacteria or even giant squid (seeing as how only 3 of the species have ever been recovered adn all dead). They are document as existing yet at the same time you would of never in your life seen or heard these things, even if your heard of them that is no difference to hearing of ghosts

but i do believe in ghosts i have had many expiriences, some nasty some nice.

now one expirience i would like to explain how i could of possibly imangined it.

3 years ago, me and my friend while i was over his house decided to go in and look around the new house's being built nearby his house, one of these houses he went around the outside while i went into the house (sliding door was left unlocked for the painters or something, but it was the only entrance). When i reached one bedroom my heart started racing for some unkonw reason, and i felt a sense of dread or soemthing, so i decided to leave. Once reaching the end of the hallway a fair sized stone came flying just missed and hit the door that led to the garage. There is no way my friend would of done it that hard and also when i got out of the house (which wasn't that long after the stone), he was quite a distance away (and like i mentioned before, the sliding door was the only entrance and i would of seen my friend in the hallway and he could of never gotten around me and gotten a fair distance away without me seeing him).

there is no conclusion exept a ghost (and not a nice one at that, but then again i was trespassing) did it as there is NO other explanation

Maybe the painters were in there and tried to scare you off ?
Just as primordiels reason for doubting Ghosts doesn't stand up your reason for believing in them seems to hold even less water !

can't be, the deisign of the house would make it impossible for someone to hide, besides there were no cars around so there was no one else around except for me in that house

Well I have had 2 encounters with them so thats why I believe in ghosts. I know I'm not the only person that has, ghosts have been reported by so many people and they really go back in time. I think the best stuff out there that ghosts are real would be how much the real estate value go's down if there was a muder there

heres a cool link, though its more slanted toward Florida real estate dealings. there are many states where you must disclose if it is haunted

I died at a young age by drowning and was ejected from my body for a couple minutes before being yanked back after resuscitation. Of course ghosts exist. I've been one.

There is no evidence that ghosts exist so no there is no reason to believe in the existance.

My opinion is it doesn't matter to me if someone doesn't support the existence of Ghost. I believe in order for a person to know the truth, you would have to experience the encounter yourself.
I have experience sensations made by many of my friends who have passed-away, usually only once, but I sense my Mother everyday.
Do I need to have people come over my home to verify her existence - NO. I feel that these experiences are private and it would be intrusive to my Mother and myself so yes I do believe in Spirits.
My other personal opinion is ghost-hunters should stop searching. I believe people should leave the Spirits alone so they can rest in peace.

I have had numerous ghostly experiences, and there is absolutely nothing that anyone else can say to me to disprove the existance of ghosts.  This is also my basis for the existance of God.

Unfortunately, just as nobody can disprove the existance of ghosts to me, there is nothing I can say to prove the existance of ghosts to anybody else.  You're just going to have to listen to my stories and take my word for it. wink2.gif I have never lied to anybody here, and I don't plan to start now. original.gif

I'm curious as to why you link ghosts to a God. I don't happen to believe in either but I cannot see why one cannot preclude the other.
