That's a horrible comparison.  I'm not sure what you know about the real story of the colonization of the Americas, but if anyone was advanced and civilized, even more technologically developed (in a few ways), it was the Amerindians, and especially North American ones (socially, with democracy and further developments taking centuries for the European colonists to adopt - BTW, the US government has admitted that their constitution and bill of rights is at least partly based on Amerindian ideas).

A good book on the subject is "The Noble Savage", Paul Daniel, I believe.
I wasn't questioning the: "how technologically advance the Native Americans were", I was merely comparing the experience of being taking away from the world as you know it and to one of much different contrast, and to be blown away by all the different advance technologies (other than your own.)

I think that exploring a new world would be fantastic but only if I had the opportunity to come back and share my experiences, jeez id wanna tell "the whole world" about it, I would crack up if I couldn't.

I think that the great explorers of times gone by wouldn't have gone exploring if they new for a fact that it was just going to be a one way journey for certain. Even Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin & crew expected to come back home at some point.

Hence why I voted No3.

Suppose you can take your pets, husband, children, and any other blood relatives needed?  Suppose you can come back for vacations?

Life in the Universe, ma'am, is Universal Life.  Each planet is a pearl of natural beauty, the most beautiful those with a sheen of biological activity.  Ours has no monopoly on such joys as tree-analogues, rivers and creeks (many worlds have more), and all of the other wondrous trappings of Earth.

The Earth is wonderful.  The universe, much more so.  Too grand for the human mind to even grasp the fullness of its grandness, even just a little bit.

You've experienced Earth.  What's wrong with seeing/feeling more?  It's like saying you don't want to leave England because of pets, family, and the wonderful sights around England. What about the wonders  the rest of the world over, and what about bringing others?

Well if you put it like that. When I was young that was all I wanted to do was leave Earth! I would love to see other planets, I mean really who wouldn't? But to leave family and home for how long? We are a family orientated species and even going on a two week vacation starts to make one yern for home. If I could take all my loved ones with me that would be great but would they want to go and if they did not then I probably would not as well. Maybe if I could go on one trip and just take the family members who did want to go, then yea, I would go.

I wonder if we just text them, will they come. In another thread it was said they might be listening. I will have to negotiate with them as I will require 6 pallets of Molson Canadian to come along lol.

"Light Speed thru the Window Seat!"
AS we board for our trip of uncernity We get our departing drink orders taken from our host and are seated into the Viewing Deck`s.
All given Megagalacticgargleblaster to Drink before they Give us the peanuts and other snacks.
Each window is about the Size of ? Well The Size is far beond description Its Hundreds of Feet in each direction.
The Seats are just a pedastal thats padded. No back rest nor arm rest,or Drink holders ?
Now Im getting worried.

But as the Departure Buzzer Blast for our Acceleration Blast,We never even Feel a slightest Movement !
At first glance out the Window Its Clear to See that Speed of Light Is like no other travel ever experienced!
ITs All just Pure White Light ! Not even a Slight Differenc in shades of Color or Anything !
Im Getting really Miffed now !
I ask the Aliens whats up !
THey reply This is all there Is  We were there !
??? Now Ive Gone fast in many rides in my Life ,but This was a Let Down! I wanted to at least Shake and rattle And See Streaming Rays of Light`s and Planets Go by ,ANd See my Hadd in front of my face melt
and Cool stuff Like that!

So Were fourty two Trillion Light Years from Earth  it took fourty two Seconds to do the entire trip and That was it?
Oh Well I guess they have been doin it for long enough thats its boreing to them!
I can See why they come to Earth now !
THe women on there Planet Love Earth Men !
Because most of us Last longer than fourtytwo Seconds !
