Happy Monday!
It's cool and overcast here today. Yesterday, it rained almost all day - probably much like what you had Susie. Last night was very windy - supposedly wind gusts up to 45 mph. My dog, who usually doesn't mind going out in the rain, did not enjoy her walk last night. In fact, it was pretty much a run to get back inside!
Since it was such a crappy day, I watched three movies: In the Land of Blood & Honey (Angelina Jolie's movie) which was good but depressing; Jesus Henry Christ which was pretty funny and lastly, Sarah's Key, which was also depressing but very good. I've been wanting to see the two depressing movies for a while, but I have to be in the proper frame of mind to watch downers like that. Thank goodness, we had a beautiful day here on Saturday and I spent the day planting trees in the projects. I do this every year for Earth Day and it always makes me feel good.
K, I think you will like Chicago. It's one of my favorite cities in the US. If you've never been there, do yourself a favor and take the architecture boat tour. The bike tour is also fun and don't forget to go to the Navy Pier for drinks.

Hopefully, the weather will be nice for your stay. The Field Museum (they have a great Egyptian exhibit - I like it better than the one at The Metropolitan here in NYC) and The Art Institute are also wonderful. Have fun!
Last, but not least, my latest obsession is the baby hawks that have hatched in Washington Sq. Park here in NYC. The nest just happens to be on the window ledge of the president of NYU, so they set up a camera. They're only a week old right now and it has been amazing to see how quickly they've grown and changed in such a short amount of time. Check it out:
