Agreed.  But we can't keep looking backward for answers.  As brilliant as he is, we must rely upon ourselves and the genius of the living to propel our advancement in the search.  That being said, I never tire of watching him and hearing what he had to say - repeatedly.

I believe he said something in Cosmos along the lines of "We remember those who paved the way, seeing for them also."

As an aside, I've been geting a kick from the Symphony of Science.
It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? The natural evolution now is to search for AI aliens and these guys will only be observed by us when they want us to...or when the Govt deem it fit right?
