                                                The Hubble space telescope has allowed astronomers to see the end of the universe's "Dark Ages".

This is the cosmic era less than a billion years after the Big Bang when the universe consisted of dark matter and hot gas.

                                                Very cool photograph of that as well.  And a similar photo, when the Hubble was first repaired, showed much of the same thing...though not as far.

And it proved Einstein's theory that gravity bends and distorts light waves.....easily discernable in the photos given.
