1246 is the number I am able to post in this thread thanks to the fine counting skills of Amalthe and despite the stuttering of the L...   ;)

BTW facts are irrelevant in this thread, its a bit like the Wiki of UM, 90% of it is accurate, researched and posted with good intent. The rest is a pile of baloney...

1246 is also the year I was born.

I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other. I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen anything to show me where the hell Helen of Annoy has been for the past couple of months.

In 1247 Song Ci publishes the Collected_Cases_of_Injustice_Rectified, a book considered to be the first mono-graphic work on forensic medicine.

1249  is the number of times my eyebrows have shot up when reading Chubb's statements.

What, in all the world, could I do to earn my living and still live as myself, as I knew myself to be? Temporary masks, I knew, had their place; everyone was wearing them, they were the human rage; but not masks cemented in place until the wearer could not breathe and was eventually suffocated.

1251. Berlin received its city charter in 1251 AD, some 50 years after it was founded. (And some 700 years before it was nearly destroyed, but that's another story).

In 1252 Pope Innocent IV issues the papal bull Ad exstirpanda, which authorizes the torture of heretics in the Medieval Inquisition. Torture quickly gains widespread usage across Catholic Europe.

In 1255 the final Cathar stronghold in southern France falls, eliminating their last refuge since the Roman Catholic Church began the Albigensian Crusade to crush the sect in 1209.

In 1258 the Siege of Baghdad ends with a battle in which Hulagu Khan's Mongol forces overrun Baghdad, then the leading center of Islamic culture and learning and capital of the Abbasid Caliphate. They burn the imperial city to the ground, killing as many as 1,000,000 citizens.
