When I was little, when I got the hiccups, My Grandma would take a spoon and pour apple vinegar in it, then she would add sugar. (JUST A SPOON FULL AND NO MORE) It got rid of my hiccups every time, not to mention it tastes awesome IMO. Still works for me to this day.

Stick a spoon in a small glass of whatever and drink until gone! If you don't have a spoon or glass justtilt your head back and take a few swigs of whatever your drinking with your head tilted back. that's very very important. Works like a charm everytime.

Get a glass of water, then bend over so your head is sort of upside down and drink some water from the opposite side of the glass. This works every single time and is not as hard as it sounds..

I enjoy hiccups. They usually happen to me when I'm really happy.

I used to drink from the opposite side of a glass/cup, but I prefer the newer method I learned: soothe your Vagus nerve ending in the roof of your mouth. It ends right at the part where the roof of your mouth turns soft. Take a deep breath and blow it out between pursed lips. Blow hard because that air pressure will soothe the irritated nerve ending. Apparently this is part of what causes hiccups. Pressing behind your ear - as one person stated they do - is also good as another branch of the Vagus nerve ends there.

Finding something to laugh at helps me when I have 'em.

Someone I liked had them. I kissed him and they were gone. I thought it was quite cute! :)

Hold your breath, close your eyes, lay down and press your thumbs on your closed eyes. Works for me

I've always done the 'take a deep breath and hold it as long as you can' method. It works.

Yep, same here.

Just don't do that whilst driving.

I get a glass of water, put a paper towel over the top of the glass and slowly drink the water through the paper towel.

It always works for me when I get the hiccups and it has worked for everyone I have suggested it to, that has tried it.

But in all honesty, I think the cure for hiccups is psychosomatic, if one "believes" a certain trick will work, it will.

In my house we take a white handkerchief in place of the paper towel.

Drink a glass of water backwards. In other words lean forward and drink it form the opposite side of the rim from where you'd drink it.

I may not have a cure, but if your female and cute, then I'd certainly take your mind off them for a while.

If what I type offends you, don't see it as an attack, but as my opinion.
