Never let it be said that small isn’t powerful. A Northern California company has just built commandos perhaps the smallest drone that can kill you. Underscoring the point, it’s even painted camouflage, like Stallone in Rambo.

The Arcturus company built its eponymous drone as the unmanned aerial equivalent of a compact car.Its wingspan is just over 17 feet, making it slightly smaller than the Army and Marine Corps’ Shadow drone. Arcturus is “primarily” a spy plane, says engineer Eric Folkestad. Emphasis on “primarily.

Too many people on both sides of the spectrum have fallen into this mentality that a full one half of the country are the enemy for having different beliefs...in a country based on freedom of expression. It is this infighting that allows the focus to be taken away from "we the people" being able to watch, and have control over government corruption and ineptitude that is running rampant in our leadership.

People should be working towards fixing problems, not creating them.

Yeah, well, y'know...it's not a 500 lbs JDAM, but 10 lbs of high explosives can still put a mighty cramp in your day.

I am just personally impressed that the military was able to progress to the point that they can admit that size isn't always so important.

That's a very good point. He was just as compact as the drone packed missile. Hahaha!

For those times when collateral damage or killing is not desirable a laser guided 10 # explosive sounds very desirable.

I don't know a lot about big military weapons.. But wouldn't a 10 lb bomb be enough to blow up a tank? Or one of those ground arrays that shoot planes?

Does the missile make a teeny-tiny explosion upon impact?

People are so used to massive missiles and Hollywood explosions, they tend to forget that normal people usually get killed or seriously injured just by being within 50 feet of a tiny hand grenade.

Grenade in a car

10 lbs of high explosives (about ten grenades worth), is still a fairly significant long range asset.

20 Lbs of C4

Couldn't find a 10lb explosion video, but the above is close to it, and still massively less than the average missile.  Shot at a distance and one can still see and feel the force from it.

What if they equip the drone with guns with needle size caliber bullets that would be a hundred thousand rounds.

A flechette gun?  I'm pretty sure those are illegal.  And short range.

The United States military would like you to replace "Teeny-Tiny Drone Fires Teeny-Tiny Missile" with "A Good-Sized Drone Fires and Adequately-Large Missile". Thank you for your consideration. Also, they would like to point out that "it's not size that counts, its how you use it."

It may be small but it's precision guided.
