We once had an "Orion van Koch" who loved to see these holes as a sign of advanced civilization.

But couldn't they just have been mining holes made by either the Incas or their direct predecessors?

If you go to Google Maps and type in "ruins." And tap on the pin and click on the info that pops up, click on it and you'll take you to the street view! I just wanted to see some ruins on maps on my iPAD.
