Well, then you have to worry about food and other necessity items. Your best bet of camping at a place that has the most of supplies you would need is a Walmart type superstore. Hell, Walmart even sells gas generators, and some have an on-site gas stations, important for when there is no more power.

*edit* - Didn't see there were more pages. I guess the Walmart would be your first stop for preparation. Get every supply you could want, gas up, hotwire one of the cars in the parking lot, and head for freedom.

That's the one difference though, they're not zombies. They're basically normal people that underwent a kind of testing to try and remove the 'bad' aspects of humanity, but it ended up backfiring and mostly everyone dies from the procedure and the rest end up crazy.
ohhhhh sinister that completely removes the idea of stupid no iq zombies in a way which means that you have to find other ways to defend

I would come on here for ideas on what to do in this situation. Lol jokes!

Nah, I'm liking the idea of melding some weapons into cars. I'd really like some grenades, some guns, a fort, with a moat. :) Can zombies swim??

It might be a different movie but in 28 Weeks Later they learn to swim, I think. There are a lot of variables to this hypothetical situation lol.

I personally wouldn't hole up. I think the better bet would be to get myself and my community organized as a whole.  Make a fortress community of sorts.  That way we could pool resources, set up defences, alternate keeping watches while having people work/farm, etc. You guys get the idea.

Have you ever seen an asda? The people working there are zombies at the best of times.

There was a SIGNATURE here. It's gone now.

This is actually a good idea. As you could seal yourself off depending on your neighborhood. You could use overturned cars to block spaces between housesand then board up those houses and basically use the houses and cars as a wall. granted this would be a short term solution as you would want to reinforce this eventually but you could create an outer ring of protection around a inner group of homes. You can then use the yards for growing some food. As time progressed you could then clear the area outside your "wall" during winter months to kill any frozen z's and reclaim resources from other homes outside your ring of protection.

Nail guns really aren't all that acurate, nor do they really penetrate when shot at a distance. That would be a very close quarters weapon.

Shovels aren't a bad idea. Multi use.

The UK's lack of personal firearms, yes. But, doesn't Scotland Yard and the local police have some?
