This certainly won't bring her back.If you Goggle her name, they have more on her at Wikipedia. It is thought by some historians there in Germany the whole thing was politically motivated. What better way of getting rid of someone than to accuse them of witchcraft. The Daily Mail website has something on this, and shows  a photo of her statute on the Cologne City Hall. The statue of the man next to her was a Jesuit priest who protested and argued that they should stop torturing and burning witches in Germany.

I don't think she really needs her name cleared... hopefully no rational people today are going to believe she really sold her soul to the devil for powers...

Why is this even being discussed?

Did she perform magical witchcraft? No, of course she did not.
Was she murdered by religious zealots? Duh.

  • By believing passionately in something that still does not exist, we create it. The nonexistent is whatever we have not sufficiently desired.

I think that's a pretty silly statement. I think there is a lot of symbolic value in what they are doing. That's like claiming that money spent on a funeral or remembrance ceremony is "BS and a waste". Or perhaps they shouldn't have wasted all of that money building and maintaining the holocaust museum? No sense in bringing to light and educating the populace about the historical atrocities committed in our past, eh?

I think there is plenty of value in what they are doing, and I think it has a ton of meaning for many people around the world even today. Acknowledging the wrongs done in the past is a good way to start the future in my opinion.

I understand that this was done because the catholic church wanted control of the people. If a woman cured your warts then she was a witch . Only Jesus cured the sick .Only he could work such miraclesAnd of course there was the Spanish inquesition
Actually Cologne was mainly protestant in the XV and XVI century.  Furthermore if the catholic (as in "universal") church with her inquisition had their fair share of murders the protestant of Germany UK and the not yet created US (see Salem trials) were the work of protestants.

rqandym23, hogwash - way too many female saints in the catholic religion for women to be "inferior".  And let's  not for gete The Blessed Mother.

Stop blaming the Catholic church for everything.  They aren't infallible, but please.
Most women saint in the catholic church were either martyrs who let themselves be tortured and killed for their jihad (to be seating next to their "saviour") or Pagan Goddess who's name had be kept to turn the Pagans around to worship within catholicism.

It's been 400 years since her execution.  It's a little to late to give her justice now.

This is only a publicity stunt, a poor one at that. Unfortunately, their posturing won't bring this poor woman back to life.
The really unfortunat thing is that if it did she would have died again before it happened... ahhh. .. .

In reality, all such murders in the Name of God or a religious dogma is in itself a demonic act. For the universal father and source of us all has never wanted pain and suffering for us. These are all our doings. We have put it upon ourselves to take the Lord's name in Vain and use it and parade it in the name of holy wars, where in fact only lower deities of the cosmic administrations and not the Supreme Creator has ordered sectarianism. The lower deities have though in many times sided with men and have congregated and miraculously made believers out of their covens and sects to pay them homage by throwing and creating wars between the races of man. But if man can only see that even the god's (cosmic admnistrators, higher species of Human Life in the Material world) are subject tot he laws of nature: duality, then they a knowledgeable person can see where these god's have taken their power to and abused or misused it to claim supremacy, knowing very well that there is someone higher than them. But the Supreme Lord allows this as man is in the material world and there is the law of freewill which He Himself will not break, unless for very special circumstances. Until man understands this truth, he will be at war with this fellow man, and will be taken into more pain and suffering as he follows such petty gods and goddesses who are not really the Supreme Lord and he's consort. Until one knows this fact, he will be entangled in the web of conspiracy and the 7 deadly sins. We are free to do as we wish, and material truth is subjective and relative, therefore one must know the absolute truth to be freed of the lies and dark veil that the Material Nature (Maya) has been weaving to keep the balance of the Material World (Duality, the good and bad), but never to free the living entities of it. Therefore one must learn the absolute truth and transcend the laws of nature as the Supreme Lord has conferred in Ancient times.
