This is the book to read

Gives you a good anatomy of a revolution, and shows how it can be done with success.

Thank you, I will give it a read. I hope our local library has this so I can download it to my  Kindle. I am going away to Seattle for ten days and this would be great for my trip. Have a good day.

Well guys, in a democracy all people get the government they deserve.

If the general interest of the public is such that less than 30% of those eligible register to vote and only 55% of those actually do so nobody should be surprised that the government runs off with them. If the public cannot discern between a broken system and their own role in it (best example 8% approve of Congress but 55% approve of their Congressman/woman) there is nothing that will fix it.

Changing the puppet at the top leads nowhere.
i agree with that. i wonder how hard it would be to make it so that nobody in politics would be paid a salary, benefits, etc, so that it would be an entirely "voluntary" system. no profit. then, maybe we could see some real progress with this country.

oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive

There would be no government. Who works for free?

Manna from heaven, water from a rock, and tents worked for Moses and his people. I guess they had to make their own clothes.

Wouldn't no pay or benefits just invite (demand) corruption?

" Mighty little force is needed to control a man whose mind has been hoodwinked; contrariwise, no amount of force can control a free man, a man whose mind is free. No, not the rack, not fission bombs, not anything —you can't conquer a free man; the most you can do is kill him" - Robert Heinlein

If you believe in that mythology... It doesn't really work in a modern world.

Since working for free is not a viable option, what do you suggest?

Mandatory constitutional classes for our youth. A informed public is the key.

Sorry, that was supposed to be sarcasm.

I hope for the best but i see something horrible coming, i think we will have our freedom back and our government back under the control of We The People, but it looks like its gonna be a nasty fight first. I have a feeling this is gonna be a pivotal year. It took us some time to get to this point, but the deception, control, and corruption goes so deep, that once its exposed in its entirety, i think the world will never be the same. I believe we will never let it get this out of hand ever again. Its easy to blame ourselves for letting this happen, but mind and perception control prevented most of us from seeing what was really going on. So yes it is partly our fault, but its mostly the fault of the people with the most power who set all this up. The key to this is taking back control of your own mind and doing whats right regardless of what they have programmed you to fear. That is their biggest weapon against you, FEAR!

The gov is to big to succeed, but it depends on your definition of success. It is definitely making some people succeed, but it has been and is a massive failure for the majority of the people, so it would be insane to keep it around in its current form. There is a huge fight going on as we speak, changes are being made, but it is a slow process thats slowly picking up speed. I really am optimistic tho and i see and end result as being good.
