Quantum physics deals with the realm of the very small, and most of us never expect to see the weird world it describes. But could we? Recently, scientist Geraldo Barbosa of Northwestern University designed an experiment to answer that question.

The quantum effect Barbosa is hoping to see is called quantum entanglement, in which two or more particles can become "entangled" so that even after they are separated in space, when an action is performed on one particle, the other particle responds immediately.

An amazing concept! This is the science which will prove most paranormal occurrences as fact, but then they wouldn't be paranormal anymore! :alien:
I think that it is much more likely that the reports of flying saucers are the results of the known irrational characteristics of terrestrial intelligence than of the unknown rational efforts of extra-terrestrial intelligence ~Richard Feynman"Just words you know" ~Written/composed by Mentalcase

This is fascinating!  I'm curious to see where we can take this... it almost sounds like it could be used for holography or something, once it's been well developed.

  • Our universe was created out of a desire. A desire to experiment, interact and evolve within a multitude of planes of consciousness.

This is what we call quantum teleportation, or entanglement-assisted teleportation.

It has already been done and successful. I think it had been done with photons and even with cesium atoms. Anyways, infos can be found on the net.

Of course, we won't see than happening with more complex objects (molecules and bigger) tomorrow but it still is facinating.

Something to tease our minds. Talking about entanglement, it is said that once particles interact physically together, they become entangled ad vitam eternam. So then, if the big bang comes from a point of singularity where everything was one (together), then we could theorise that everything in the universe in entangled in a way.

So you have these two faster-than-light neutrinos walking into a bar...
