In the remote Kamchatka peninsula (map below), 200 km from Tigil, University of Saint Petersburg archaeologists discovered a strange fossil. The authenticity of the find has been certified. According archaeologist Yuri Golubev, occurs that, in this case the discovery surprised scientists by its nature, at least - unusual, able to change history (or pre-history).

It is not the first time that is an artifact, an ancient object, something like this is found in that region. But, surprisingly conserved, this specific artifact is - at first glance, inlaid in rock (which is understandable since the peninsula is home to numerous volcanoes). Subjected to analysis, the conjunct showed to be made of metal parts that seem to form a mechanism, a gear which may be of a type of watch or computer. The astonishing is that all the pieces were dated in 400 million! of anos

Perhaps this is just the fossil of an unknown lifeform verses it being a gear? :unsure2:

Ok then Miss Sarcasm, please select the most likely alternative:-

a. An archeology team wishing to get their names in the public eye and/or their funding renewed.
b. A news publication team looking to improve its circulation
or
c. The clutch and gearbox assembly of a 400,000,000 y.o. Volkswagon Campervan.

It looked like a faulty reverse ionizing thruster from a UFO to me. Just kidding. It is an amazing find. It's tough to grasp that it could be that old though.

Since when are fossils made of metal?
The article clearly states

Quote

Subjected to analysis, the conjunct showed to be made of metal parts...
Metal parts, not stone. Life forms do not turn into metal in fossilization process.

Maybe it's not an ancient machine, but if it's really metal, then it's not fossil either.
It's better idea to dispute the dating than to call it a fossil.
