Kind of surprised North Korea admitted failure instead of trying to blame it on someone else.
I've grown so accustomed to their deceptions that I just assumed the whole launch hoopla might have been made up for another purpose. There is evidence that they might be about to test another nuke underground (thankfully). Perhaps they wanted a fallback position in case of a rocket failure or maybe they wanted to give the impression that, after a successful launch, they were refining a device to sit on top of their new and improved delivery vehicle.
It's made me begin to wonder what effect it will have when they eventually do master the science and prove they can deliver a payload into orbit. Recent history has shown them they can expect concessions from the West if they threaten war. Once they have a reliable system to make good on such a threat, will they show restraint or go for broke?
I hope that anti-ballistic missile technology continues to improve.
