Well it really depends on the translation, in Syriac for example, the Aramaic word hur is a plural adjective of raisin, with the word white attached, therefore white dried grapes. In arabic translation the word houri, can be translated as white, wide and beautiful/lovely eyes, eternally young, or in sexual preferences as virgins, or appetizing vaginas.
Though, in the Quran, the paradise is described as a very sensual place, where believers are rewarded with the smallest reward of 72 wives, and be given the sexual strength for 100, but.. there's a big difference between worn out wives and virgins, personally I wouldn't like a reward of 72 nagging wives
I think the problem is, that the original Quran can be read, as well as the Bible, in many ways, giving the readers many different beliefs..
