If you could only write one word to describe what you had learnt from war, what would that word be?

(I Know its not possible to sum up war in one word.. BUT.. if aliens or something sent a device with a question but it only could carry one word back to them. What word would you chose)

To describe war or what we have learned from it?
Nothing.....cause we keep having them.
Ive been lucky and never had to fight in a war, the one thing I notice is that not many who have fought will talk about it with anyone except someone else who has fought.

EGO

Maybe i should explain why i chose that word?
i would blame ego as the cause for all  greed  , and delusions of  "superiority"  or actual  dominance over another ?
