I'm not sure if it's been listed already, but Richie Valen's Sleepwalk is my favorite instrumental.

"I charge thee in the sight of God, who giveth life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed the good confession; that thou keep the commandment, without spot, without reproach, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: which in its own times he shall show, WHO IS THE BLESSED AND ONLY POTENTE, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS; who only hath immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power eternal. Amen" (I Tim 6:13-16).

For the love of God - By Steve Vai

IMO, best instrumental song ever.

Just found this one from Friedman. I never would have guessed.

"I think there may be "ghost phenomenon" that may be still not fully understood or dismissed, but that doesn't make it spirits of the dead, anymore than "UFO" means "spaceship" or even "UFO" or "spaceship" is directly related to aliens, or anything else. Ok I'm not known to be much of a patriot by any stretch of the imagination, nor am I much of a military supporter. BUT, I think this is one of my all time favorite pieces of music ever.

I dare you listen to this and abstain from conducting an imaginary brass band in your livingroom! You can't do it.

The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass and dictators die and the power they took from the people, will return to the people and so long as men die liberty will never perish... Soldiers don't give yourselves to brutes, men who despise you, enslave you, who regiment your lives, tell you what to do, what to think or what to feel, who drill you, diet you, treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder... Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men, machine men, with machine minds and machine hearts.  You are not machines. You are not cattle. You are men. You have the love of humanity in your hearts.

Thanks, why have I never imagined these two things together in raw form like this before?

should check out his youtube page username vadrum he has some more pieces on there and his cd is pretty amazing, never been huge on classical music but throw in a really talented drummer it just kicks it up a few notches.
