Eh, you're not really an atheist if you're copping out like that. I've noticed quite a few of my atheist friends who have that same mental reservation. You're taking Pascal's wager, whether you like it or not.

Explain your reasoning

So your saying Christians can make any up version they want and still claim to be Christians and it's multiple choice

Not just christians. ANYONE can, and does, do this. The only wrong answer in a multiple choice question on god is. "I refuse to accept his existence".

This is  because, for most people, a  personal relationship with god requires the acceptance of "his" (or hers or its,)  existence. God cannot (usually) connect to such a person because their mind and heart is not "wired" to be able to accept the presence of god, either in a metaphysical or spiritual sense.

And if your heart and mind ae closed to god it is difficult for him/ her/ it, to enter into them, to form a personal relationship with you.

I was like that. Perhaps that is why god chose to come to me in a physical, and thus undeniable form. I am incapable of connectiong to god via belief in him. Llike thomas, i had to see, feel, and touch, to accept.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world..

Be cheerful.

Strive to be happy.

See my response to fully wired for my thoughts; but one point, since you referred to me specifically.

Mr Walker. I stand by every last word I posted previously... In general  meaning  over all  in real life and  on line any place  - Attention seekers sometimes amuse me ..and I get a laugh now and again from listening to them,  or even  watching them carry on..it can be   funny.....But then one can get a bit long in the tooth from attention seekers..Having to read or listen to some really  wacky  idiotic  words and stories, we all know is only for attention..It can get annoying...You se people get fed up with attention seekers and they wil post up - do not feed the trolls  .
They post these things because trolls are annoying...they have no life and they have no sense..I'll give you examples below...

Some of them will make up  info  pretend they are something,  act like they are 40 years old living with a wife and kid when really they are only 20 years old and still at home in their mothers basement......
Some will pretend they have taken up so many courses and studies, it will depend on the topic at the time that is raised. I have worked with a guy called Jimmy who did this  non stop...he acted the expert on all he was involved in...and poor fella had not got a clue..You name it,   he took a course in it or it was one of his hobbies  lol  .Posted Image

Some pretend to be so many things at once......And even better if it is all on line.. because on line you can be anything ..

.Post up crazy stories and go out of their way to convince others they are truth...it is all to get attention..... Even go as far as  to act as if they have some medical problem that makes them look like some mythical creature...or claim big foot really did come to their party  lol ..........In real life it is the same..I have worked with some like that... It is sad too...

About you.. Well you always knew how well I take your stories. I was always honest l .It comes of no surprise to you and you never  have had problems with it. in fact you have always accepted it.....I see no point in reading another  defending post..

Heck Mr Walker, if you took time off and asked e to fill in for you, I could still make people think you were still around, I would know exactly how to post up a MW post and no one would be none the wiser...lol   Posted Image

Alright, I guess I'll try to make it more simple. I've noticed a lot of my atheist friends lately say that "If I'm a good person, I'll go to Heaven regardless of whether or not I believe in God." This indicates a clear mental reservation...showing that they're taking the possibility of an afterlife into account. It's also intellectually dishonest and a little hypocritical. While I won't dispute whether or not they're correct, I will ask them to be a little more firm in their beliefs. Whatever you believe, try to believe it.

As I said, I dont have any objection to oyur comments. I just replied because you "mentioned" me. Again, I cant be responsible for how you respond to my (or amyone elses) posts ) nor how any one else responds to them.

Youve been on UM long enoguh to know why I came here and why I sty here it has nothing to do with atention seeking (seeing s no one knows who "I" really am how can "I" be seeking attention? I am a person who is very interested in all the areas of UM but especially the spiritual religious and paranormal areas. This is one place where i can converse with others of similar interest. In real life there is perhaps one in a hundred peolple who  have any interest at all in these things. I spend less tha 10% of my time oN Um .Much less for example than i spend reading or walking with my wife and dog.

I wouldnt know and neither do I care about that. I assume everyone is telling the truth. (although i understnd for many an avatar on a forum IS another form of life. That's because I  only tel the truth as I know or understand it and my ethics make me. I take people on trust until they disprove  themselves. I do that in real life too and it works for me perhaps, because of the community I live with.
Some pretend to be so many things at once......And even better if it is all on line.. because on line you can be anything ..
Thats true but ive never really Got that idea or need. Even playing role playing games like WOW online my character reflects me and acts as i do with ethics and integrity. I dont pretencd to be 14 or female even if my charater looks like that online.

Stories can be absolute truth, or absolute fiction, or a blend of both.  I write my fanatasies in quite a differnt 'forum"

You probably could and I could do a fair imitation of you. I also tell a lot about my real self on line over the years which makes it easier to imitate me with conviction, but I would know it wasn't me

The first suggests that a person, with god, can do anything. The second just suggests that, in the case of god, all things are possible.

eg  the same thing could be applied to one's mother. In the first you are saying  you could do anything with your mother's help. In the second your mother is capable of doing anything.(A suggestion also of unpredictability and unlimited potentiality)

If you do not beleive you fit the description of the people I spoke about various people  all over.. then you will not feel the need to defend yourself  at all ....If you want to keep talking bout yourself, a nicer plan would be to blog it and it may be more fun and  then it can be all about you?
