So we are about to buy a house (today hopefully) and I was just wondering if anyone has updated a kitchen or bathroom, or built a deck, or built a 4 season porch, and how much it cost them. Anyone have any experience with this? And was it professionals that did this or friends and family.
Thanks

You could try asking your question on http://www.city-data.com/forum/house/

Congrats &
my advice would be to look into the first time buyer programs offered through the state or government, but they don't always work out:

I can't qualify, have been here over 10 years, and it is hard to come up with xtra cash for even any maintenance.  So anything you are qualified for helps.  They make sure that the contractors are licensed, and has to pass inspection when finished.
