Phillip Tilley: Greed and fear are the two most powerful motivating factors that drive humans.  Greed is a powerful motivator but fear is ten times more powerful.  Greed drives people to want something or to want more of something.  They always want more.  Greed is a parasite that consumes the host it thrives on until it is all gone. Then there is the fear factor.  Even for those who have much there is the fear of losing it.  A billion dollars is not enough if you begin to lose a million here and there you will soon be one of the have notís.   We will have none of that.  This fear of loss drives them to be even greedier and grab even more of the resources for themselves.  Fearful that if they do not grab it someone else will.
