Yes, it was quite the humdinger.  I'm shocked that you even survived.
And here I was thinking this was the after-life. Hmmm.  :o

Edit; Actually, now you know where the first instance of probing came from. I'm ashamed to admit it.

I think that it is much more likely that the reports of flying saucers are the results of the known irrational characteristics of terrestrial intelligence than of the unknown rational efforts of extra-terrestrial intelligence ~Richard Feynman"Just words you know" ~Written/composed by Mentalcase

The very best case doesn't have to be famous. I'd say it's more like the one you see with your own eyes...unless you're one of these people who thinks everything is an alien.

The most famous one being Roswell, but it certainly isn't the best. Or rather, if it is, then the others must be really, really weak. Roswell was a bunch of rubbish from a balloon and a made up story about alien bodies, with no verification at all.

In the UK almost as famous as Roswell, I guess, is Rendlesham Forest. But that was obviously the lighthouse. There's also the Berwyn Mountains one but that turns out to have been poachers with lights.

Are there any actual good cases at all, anywhere?

The Rendlesham Forest incident was no poxy lighthouse.  Even the keeper of the lighthouse himself does not subscribe to that theory.

It was obviously the light from the lighthouse, filtered through fog and alcohol/drugs.

I believe that the UFO that chased my wife and daughter across some French countryside in 2010 is definitively a UFO. I'm not speaking of little green men, but of an Unidentified Flying Object. Even my contacts in the French military had no explanation for the event. To this day, three years later, both my wife and my 15-year old daughter are both still nervous about going outside at night. Something very strange happened that night. That story is here .

If you truly want to lose yourself in UFO reports and knowledge, you could no better than take the time to read this thread here, from the Physics Forums, which is a "napster" of reports over the years. They do not suffer fools, fringies or 2012 zealots on that forum, and most of the rubbish has been eliminated, leaving only bare details, official witnesses and technical knowledge to make up the most of the evidence.

Thanks, will have a look at those.

And who would that be?

Are you suggesting that the base's security  personel at the time, including I believe the camp commander (or was it the senior officer on duty at that time?) were all unfit for duty?
I do hope you have something to back this up :)

I still find the Portage County Case one that is very difficult to resolve. It is the one they modelled the police chase in the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind on.

They had all come from a party, and it was Christmas week.

In her book, Georgina Bruni says the men denied being drunk, but then they would do. She also points out that drugs and alcohol were a very big problem on the base.

If there has been any cover up, this is what is being covered up.
