         Ocean

I stand composed, in a tranquil repose.

Overcome with humility, not worthy of notice.

The vast sea opus renders me speechless.

As frescoes of froth crash on the shore,

I overflow with gratitude, in tide pools of grace.

And, as the waves cascade in hope; I contemplate my future,

At the same time, marveling, at the holiness of this place.

Starfish

     Walking on the beach today,

Starfish appeared from the watery sky.

            Star shaped in bright hues,

            Configured-- all lopsided and awry.

The ocean unhinged its aquatic treasure chest,

And tossed upon the sand its favorite toys--

Sea stars, dressed in vibrant violets and chalky starch whites

For me and hubby to enjoy.

  • Sometimes it's better to keep the mystery unexplained.

Omg! Thank you to all the posters for all the kind words; I literally wiped these together to help my son on a homework assignment. Hopefully his teacher likes them too.
