If aliens exist, they would obviously want what makes us unique. It's not minerals, slave labor, or anything like that. It would probably be the fundamentals about what makes us tick, our DNA, our bio-energy, hell...maybe even our souls? If a soul actually exists. Theoretically it would be wise to accumulate the best traits from a variety of species, then weave them into the ultimate being, or form of life. Kind of like a forced survival of the fittest, except through artificially engineered means.

I think before anyone makes a guess towards intent there has to be proof of existence. I can ask what the great overlord chaka wants...but unless I can prove that overlord chaka exists the question lacks meaning. I do believe in other life in the galaxy, and find it POSSIBLE that it has visited or still does so. However before I even begin to speculate on what the intent of being here is we have to prove the existence of visitors themselves, or it will always be speculation and not theory.
