I don't care about your vase, I am tired of getting suckered up in discussion that are one sided with one party sticking the fingers in his/her ear squealing as loud as he can "lalala can't hear you".

Oh, QM, I feel your pain. That's precisely why I stepped back from this discussion, as worthwhile as it is.

So now you know how simple it is to make a lathe QM, are we going to see you make one of those vases that have become such a sticking point ?

Just think, you can be the first person on the web making such an object, you could even become rich and famous :tsu:

Come on you know you wanna  :D

There are at least 3 links on how to make those vases on this forum (one on this thread), now if instead of turning up your prayer mill of asking the same question over and over some of you would bother to read them and then tell us why the author is wrong you might get an answer. Which I suspect you guys really don't want 'cause it could destroy your semi-magic (or said rudely: brain maxturbation) world construct.

Correction, first one to make a hardstone version, with a lathe.

You're the one asking the same thing over and over and over (well, you and L and lilthor, and others of the Broken Record Brigade).

So why not break out of your rut and give it a go yourself? You seem more interested in doing so than most of us, so there's no reason to keep asking the same question.

You know you wanna.

I assume none of these arm chair experts have ever actually attempted to work with ancient tools.  I happen to do wood carving....I happen to know people that do stone carving.....do you know....they laugh at you?  They get a serious laugh at people that do not understand the craft and yet want to proclaim information as if they were experts?

Working wood is not easy......working stone is even more difficult.....but if you know the tricks of the trade....you can remove massive amounts of material in no time at all......my carving friends laugh.....it is a totally different discipline....what we have to do to remove large amounts of wood is totally different than stone workers do.....you think you know something...but you are wrong.....until you pick up a hammer and seek to learn the trade....you know nothing.....these guys make a living doing this....do you?....methinks not....you know only what your imagination says and it is incorrect......listen to the experts...they know what they are doing.

First of all Im sorry if you felt bored with my questions. That was not my intention. I asked questions for purpose to understand. I agreed that we dont agree and I move one. I see you are not as you used to be. I was used to patient guy Kmt. I dont know whats behind this mentioning my name. L this L that. Discredit me or ...I dont know. And for the sake of good ol times please dont put people (atleast me) in any box. I dont even know and not willing to learn what Broken Record Brigade means. Not that I have anything against lilithor. Im sure he is quite alright. (never talk to him but I asume). Thanks in advance. Im sure you will understand.

Edit. ^_^

Truth be told, L, I didn't really want to include you in that list. I enjoy posting with you because you usually bring so much more to a discussion. Earlier in this discussion you heavily repeated questions about granite this and diorite that even when other posters tried to offer explanations.

"Broken record" is just an idiom meaning something that tends to repeat over and over.

I probably shouldn't have posted the earlier remark at all. It would've been best to leave you out of it, at least. My apologies.

Its okay. I forgive you. To tell you the truth you are one of the best friends I had on the internet. I like your effort and patientce.  Its just what Al pacino said.
Well, you know how they say, repeating is mother of knowledge. I will try to avoid FAQ. But Im one of those guys who will rather have good question then false answer. This "false" dont take seriously.
Im sad that things went bad with some members too. But Im sure that we will found common language in the future and smooth things up. Trying to be positve but today is not so promising,
Tomorrow is my last day before vacation and Im having temperature. I hope that can explain my russian/japanese accent in these last two posts.

Which would tend to put you and all the fine folks on AA in the same boat, wouldn't it? And like kmt says, if they haven't tried it the old-fashioned way themselves, they're hardly in a position to claim expertise either.

Oh yes, they laugh, but not with you. Maybe you missed the thread I posted earlier from a professional stone carver's forum. What was the title again?

Sorry for going offtopic again. I promise this is my last post in this thread.

@Kmt
although I know this isnt last time we will have big disagreement and high tension debate. But I can take it. Im childish in many senses but I can stand hits from debate for the purpose of good conversation.
Take care.

Oh, I'm sure we'll disagree plenty in the future, L. The trick is to keep it civil and to remain calm. I get overly touchy like everyone else.

Besides, this would be a damn boring place if we all agreed with one another every single time.
