Looking back at your entire life, what was the greatest moment you ever experienced? And why was it the greatest moment of them all? It could be the greatest for any reason; an accomplishment, moments of great love, peace, joy, an extremely rare event, etc.

I thought about this today as it relates to myself, and while I have a few potential answers, I find it very hard to choose one and say "that is the moment". It almost seems too sacred a decision to make for me. Or maybe I just don't know yet.

Sorry if this is in wrong section. But I'm asking to try to look at the potential answers in a psychological way; to get in the minds of others a bit, and see what moments they hold most special in their lives, and why.

Quite a "poser"... I hope it hasn't happened yet.  But one of the most memorable was watching Columbia lift off at night.  That or walking in the Colosseum in Rome.

I think there are many great moments in most people's lives.
For instance, in my life I could say that two great moments were being there when the children were born.
Another great moment was when I was 15yrs old and the gliding instructor said ''Ok, hook up to the winch again, but this time you are going up on your own!''   That is something I will never forget. The feeling being winched up in a glider to around 1000 ft and you are in total control of whatever happens.  I survived lol.
There have been other times too, but I have to go for lunch as friends are waiting :)

early memories, it was just the usual, kissed a guy for the first time, first job, h.s. graduation, etc.
until @ 20 when I gave birth to my son because finally my life changed for the better, felt I had a reason to get up in the morning. :passifier:
we have been through a lot over the years, so that created many great moments being together.  We still learn from each other.

Then on July 11, '91 the divorce was final, just a few days late for independence day :w00t:

1994, saw Pink Floyd in concert and did not want it to end.  I still have the souvenirs & ticket stub.

losing track of time, it goes too fast these days.  But I finally decided it's now or never to try to continue to to back to school.
I will celebrate when I achieve that dream.

Being at the park with a loved one, deep in the trail with only trees, the sound of cars can still be heard, it is quite mundane and means everything to me. We go back often but even when it ends I will always return there in my imagination.

So far?

I was sitting on a train, and a very small spider crawled onto my shoe. I put my hand down and it crawled onto my finger. I spent the train journey - about 5 minutes - letting the spider crawl over my hand and fingers and then, when the journey was over I took the spider outside and put it on a shrub. The woman (who I didn't know) sitting next to me on the train had been watching me, and then came over to me when I let the spider go and said "Bless you."

At that moment I felt very good about myself, and that is, to me, what greatness is all about.

I guess I should have specified it more clearly as best moment you have experienced so far in your life.

I figured having a child would be most people's favorite. I am jealous of not experiencing that yet. What a moment that must have been,

What I find fascinating are some of the more "normal" moments where, for reasons known or unknown, you just felt good. Good enough to never forget it.

Definitely holding each of my kids for the first time after they were born, It was like finally meeting someone that I had already known my whole life and at feeling the most perfect, mind blowing, almost indescribable love that really does keep getting bigger every day.

Before that though, it was standing on the top of Blackcomb Mountain in Whistler.  It was a perfectly clear day and I could see Rocky Mountain peaks literally as far as the eye could see.  It was the most breathtaking view I've ever seen to this day and I just felt incredibly thankful for being there and being able to take it all in.

LOL - for real (I really laughed out loud at that).

I would have to say the greatest moment in my life was watching the birth of my daughter 21 years ago. I can remember it like it happened yesterday. She was born C-section and the doctors asked me to sit down but I refused because I couldn't see anything from that vantage point. They said "Ok, just don't pass out on us when you watch the operation."
I didn't pass out and witnessed her entire birth. I cried like a baby (no pun intended), that was the most moving and beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life.

Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.

Mine would have to be the day that I picked up sushi, and the moment I closed my door when I arrived home it started pouring really, really hard outside.  I sat on my balcony, enjoyed my sushi and the buckets of rain (rain has always been very soothing to me) and for a while forgot about the divorce I was going through at the time.

It probably sounds like an insignificant memory, but for me it was one of the first times in my life that I felt reassured that I could be happy and make it on my own.

Definitely the birth of my three girls, then the birth of my Grandson just 10 months ago. Visiting Lourdes the Shrine was awesome. But one of the best moments I can remember was when I was cabin crew, flying back an empty (no passengers) 767 from India with just the crew, lights down low, cruising 37 miles up with Michael Jackson blaring out from the flight deck, sipping champagne and whooping it up B)
