Question is: Are they telling the truth about that?

I assume so. They have given their position; that the object has a very high probability of simply being an usual piece of geology. Accounts of mysterious effects on electronic devices aren't necessary to that story, and tend to suggest a very different explanation. Remarkable claims will raise expectations of what will be found. If they don't follow this up with remarkable evidence, interest will quickly wain.

I'm certainly not saying it doesn't bear investigating, but claiming that it's 'almost certainly' Nazi anti-submarine technology because a few pieces of electrical equipment had temporary failures (which were resolved by restarting them a couple of times) is jumping the gun a bit.

The biggest hurdle facing paranormal investigations is the fact that supporters jump immediately to the most far fetched of conclusions on the flimsiest of evidence.

Noise that can't be immediately explained = ghosts.
Fuzzy picture taken by someone = Bigfoot.
Weird thing that could be naturally formed under the water = aliens and/or Nazis.

As of this point, I'll take the word of the Ocean X team, whose stance is still "it's definitely weird, but there is no evidence yet which suggests that it can't be natural."

We all can agree I am sure, that with much truth that does get exposed, there is a lot of false imformation that they put out there as well. Personally, I think its for ourselves to make up  our minds on this and what we want to believe, but once the "truth" comes out, then we can all make a informative choice on what you believe or not.

They've had multiple instances of electrical equipment failures on each of two separate expeditions to the site of the object. Further-- their satellite mobile phones failed when they were nearest the object, worked again when they moved off a little, and failed again when they moved in closer. The more examples of such interference there are, the harder is it to ascribe these to coincidence.

Right - but where did you read these facts? They don't appear in the official press releases. I'm tempted to think this was made up by the media.

Somewhere in this thread (or the other, similar one) is a video where Dennis Asberg (Ocean X)is asked about that stuff happening, and he confirms it.

there you go: it's on page 25 in this thread.

Hmmm ... maybe a fossilized giant proto-jellyfish?  It's as good a guess as a secret Nazi weapon left over from WW II or an alien craft.  It also has the advantage of being a natural formation.

Anyway, this thread is a fun read with all the ideas & counter ideas but the thing that gets me (in a good way) is that everyone's so civilized about it when they disagree with someone else.

I'm also still fascinated with the whole thing...! Ok, it is no saucer, bummer. But whatever it is, i somehow doubt it's a Nazi submarine stopper. Maybe it's my absolute lack of experience in water deeper than 10 feet...or underwater warfare... but if the ocean x team with its 21st century technology has so much trouble taking a sample or even making out what it is due to the conditions in the murky water there, how could they have built it 70 years ago? I doubt it was constructed as a whole and then just dumped there. It sure is man made, but way older than "ze need to stop ze enemy U-Boot"!

The machinery might have been installed on a giant concrete anchor secured with steel wire mesh. Both are not seen today, might have as well been corroded or washed away. What we see today through SONAR images is the concrete anchor. At least a Swedish naval officer and warfare history expert Anders Autellus thinks so.

A 200ft around concrete anchor sitting on a huge stalk!!!!!! i have been in a uboat and if that is the general size of ww2 subs there is no way they would construct something of that size, never mind the logistics of doing it 70 years ago in freezing water.

anyway i'm 50/50 on this at the moment and i think people are losing patience, i know they are out at the site at the moment but its time to put up or shut up because its becomming a circus
