Hello people, Some of you may believe this stuff and some of you may not... Im an agnostic, Im not into any religion at the moment, But i dont exclude the possibility of a superior being existing.
Okay... Now the story, I have the gift of being able to see my own future, I see it in my dreams, You could say that i see like short video clips of my future, Always 10-20 seconds long, I see things that will happen to me from a day to like a year or two later, They're incredibly accurate, Things always happen they same they did in my dreams, Not every dream i see is a premonition, But i can really tell them apart because these dreams are so vivid, I feel like im awake, Ive been keeping a diary of my dreams for the past 2 years, Ive had 41 premonitions so far and all of them have come true, The latest one being me getting a 100$ parking ticket a week ago (Everything the same, The conversation, faces, places, Every freaking thing and this happens all the time), 2 nights ago... I felt like i was in a horror movie, I saw myself die... I open my eyes, Im in the middle of a road, My forhead is bleeding, I turn my head, I see my car is on fire and a truck is coming at me at full speed, The driver tells me to quickly get out of the way, I try... But i cant, For some reason im like paralysed, The truck hits me and thats when i wake up.

Im not claiming to be a prophet or anything like that, Im just claiming that i can see short periods of time from my future, I dont know the reason for it, I dont feel blessed at all, It can be so random and it really freaks you out, Ive never tried to avoid a premonition, Even if i tried i probably couldnt, Because they come so sudden and i will never really know when or why will they happen. I didnt mind it till now, Its really disheartening, I refuse to believe it but i cant ignore it either, Im really confused and i dont know what to do, I guess im just asking if anyone has had experience with similar situations, Or even if you know someone that knows someone that has had a similar situation, There are people with special talents out there, I feel like i got the short stick.

Better watch out.  Abraham Lincoln supposedly had a dream that he was dead, not long before his death.

It's more likely that it's a stress related feeling.    I dreamed I died 20 years ago.  Still alive and kicking.
I am another anonymous face in the crowd. I am just another tiny wheel in the machinery of the world I live in.

I've had many premonitions and one saved my life.  I was driving down the road one day and a sudden feeling came over me that if I didn't stop I was going to die.  I was coming upon this steep hill with a curve at the top.  Before I got to where the hill started I stopped and it wast just a couple of seconds this 18 wheeler came around the curve at the top of the hill, going too fast, completely on my side of the road.  If I hadn't of stopped I would of been dead.

I believe you can change them I think I stopped one from happening.

Welcome to UM.

Hey, that's very cool that you have these dreams. I have had only one in my life that I remember.

It's not deja vu, because like you said, you write your dreams down after you have them. And then I assume some time later, what you dreamed of happens in "real life", and you can check back at your dream.

While I didn't write down when it happened to me, I do know it wasn't simply deja vu, because while I was touring the exact same house (inside and out) that I had dreamed of months earlier, some notable interesting things were different in the house from the dream to "real life" tour. Things like a bathroom window not being installed yet in the dream, and it being normal in the later real tour. And also a room my friend was to stay in in the dream filled with his stereo equipment from our past home, but he had left all of that behind when we came later in real life. Also, in the dream my car was in this house's driveway, but we drove a U-Haul in real life, and the house was a 15 minute drive in the dream. Later in real life, it was 2 states over in Utah. :o

So I know what you mean. It's wild stuff. I wish I could explain the how and why of it.

Hi Johnsilva

I dream 2 to 3 dreams a night that I can remember and write down in my dream journal. I also know some of them are foretelling my future or others around me. They like you say.... are soooooooo vivid,. like smell, colors, touch etc.. that I know to pay attention to the dream to watch just like a movie and learn from it.

I had a dream where I was at my own funeral, I looked at myself and knew I was the age of 65 .. I felt sadden and this very awwwed feeling that I'm seeing this, also seen family members that had aged and smell of flowers etc..When I woke I said to myself then I was going to enjoy life as much as i can..... and not dwell on this dream.

I have dreams of being other people and what will happen to them, for instance, my brother n law, wrecked into a ditch during a bad snow storm... told him what road and which vehicle he would be in and who was with him. But I think because I told him before hand....he controlled the vehicle enough that they all was ok... with just vehicle damage. To this day he still tells me thanks for the warning.

Just wanted to ask...did you know it was you .... or was it someone else's eyes you was looking through? I know you said you saw your car etc... but you could be foretelling an event where you will be present at an accident to happen!? And maybe thats what the dream is about helping someone else? A warning for them or for you to know what will happen!

anyhow just a thought
also can you control your dreams? Just wondering ... as some of my dreams I can control...

I agree with what hilander said, that you can change your future by knowing about these premonitions. I won't lie. If you really have had over 40 perdictions that have come true then thats pretty amazing even though you said that you don't consider it a blessing and I can understand that. I've never experienced anything like what you have but I wanted to post a reply saying that you can alter your future and not to let that last preomonition make you feel as if it's out of your control. :)

I've had dream premonitions before and been present at a few natural disasters that occurred in other parts of the world while I was asleep.  For that reason I formed the opinion that it was a form of astral projection that was not bound by time or locality.

If you have experienced that many accurate events I would, without question, get rid of that car, now.  Maybe go car-less for a while.  Alternatively, if the dream took place at night... don't drive at night.  I  wouldn't want to test that event.

Easy way to test this ...... go jump off a high place..... if that kills you... the premonition was wrong. If it doesnt.... watch out for trucks !!!

I cant really get rid of the car since it means alot to me, My dad left it to me and it was his dying wish that i never sell it, I guess i will try to stay away from it as much as i can
For the next few years i will be extra vigilant, Though sometimes thats never enough, Something may happen that will force me to use the car, I have also decided to burn my diary... I dont really wanna write my own death there.
Shock value aside, I feel that this dream is changing my personality, I feel more aware and compassionate to other people,  I have been talking to some people that normally i wouldnt even think of throwing an eye at, Its weird... but i feel more alive.

I have had many dreams that have come true.  However, I also wish I had a dollar for every dream of my own death I have had.

In typical dream allegory the "car" is a symbol for the "vehicle of your soul" aka: your own body.  The journey you have in a car, if it breaks down, reaches a dead end, falls into an ocean of clear (one meaning) or putrid (a different meaning) of water, off a cliff, crashes into a truck etc are symbolically telling you the likely outcome of your current choices or decisions about where your are going in life be it financial, emotional, career - fact is, once you piece it together you generally know what your mind is trying to get across.

However, I understand your concern, having experienced the same fears many many times.  Precognizant dreams have a particular "flavour" which I'm sure you'll agree but the difference is subtle so coupled with fear, naturally confusing.  You need to think clearly about the nature of the dream itself, it relationship to the real world we know when awake, the lucidity of the experience and the surroundings.

It makes sense to be cautious and the best outcome of the dream is to teach you to remain in the moment when you are in your car - do not allow distractions, day dreaming of the past or future, thinking about what's for dinner etc take your concentration from the very important task you are doing - driving your car.  Practice the safe driving techniques and be aware of other hazards, including trucks and their behaviour on the road.  People are vulnerable to accidents through distraction, impatience and other hazardous drivers - you can distance yourself from such hazards quite easily by being patient and aware of your surroundings, keeping safe distances and being a courteous rather than impatient road user.

Hope that helps.
"I warn you, whoever you are, oh you who wish to probe the arcanes of nature, if you do not find within yourself that which you seek, neither shall you find it outside.
If you ignore the excellencies of your own house, how do you intend to find other excellencies?
In you is hidden the treasure of treasures, Oh man, know thyself and you shall know the Universe and the Gods."

I have had a few precognitive dreams too, I can't tell the difference between them and "regular" dreams though. The only way I know they came true is because i'm vigilant at writing every dream down with as much detail as I can grasp onto.

Most of the time they're seemingly insignificant, but a couple of months ago I dreamt I was in the car with my brother and we got into an accident where the car rolled over after he turned a corner too fast. I thought it was odd for me to dream that because I'm not really close with him, but a couple of days later I found out that he got into a car accident that happened the very same way, I wasn't in the car with him in the car, but the accident happened pretty much the same way I dreamt.

I also dreamed, most recently, about saying goodbye to a good friend's grandfather.  In the dream I knew I was never going to see him again and a bunch of us we in his apartment saying goodbye.  He passed away the next morning. I knew he was very sick, but he was expected to live another month or so  - it's hard for me to actually say if that one was precognitive or not, but the vividness of it made it feel different.

Anyway, I agree with LibsaK though, just take it as a reminder to stay cautious while driving.  An accident may not be 100% preventable, but you can only do what you are able to.  And hey, if the dream has changed your perspective on life somewhat, then maybe that's just what you needed to take from it.  I had the same experience years ago from a death dream. It woke me up a little more and made me feel like I needed to leave a better impact on my world, tell people I loved them more and all of that. ;)
