Personally I believe that there's a possibility that some cryptids are real, however I am open to the possibility that they may not be. I feel that the best way to know is to look for yourself, get you own eyewitness testimony, gather your own evidence, that way you know the details of how, when, where, etc. that goes with the evidence and have seen it first hand and know if it's been tampered with. The evidence from TV and the internet is just to unreliable to make any conclusions from on there own and really can be a hindrance.

I think the bigger question is: Why does it bother you so much that people want to believe in bigfoot? Is it hurting you any? Does having someone believe in bigfoot hinder your ability to, say, walk to the grocery mart and pick up a gallon of milk?

If it does, pat yourself on the back and check into the nearest clinic. You might have severe narcissism.

Thats my views on it if people want to believe in the existence of something let them believe in it    :tsu: :tsu:

Whats wrong with expressing disbelief in bigfoot...especially in a cryptozoology discussion forum?

I would argue that the real narcissists are those believers, and purveyors of falsehoods and scams, whom seemingly cant understand why someone would question, doubt, or not believe their extraordinary claims, or the existence of the mythical bigfoot.

By the way what does not being able to go out to buy milk because someone believes in bigfoot have to do have to do with narcissism? Just asking.

There's nothing wrong with expressing a disbelief in Bigfoot. However, there's everything wrong with continually and aggressively trying to force that belief on others.

The point was, that people believing in Bigfoot isn't hurting or hindering you. Maybe you shouldn't hurt or hinder them.

Live and let live.

For both of you.....

This is what people call a " discussion board ".....meaning, people come on to discuss things.

If neither of you feel like discussing in a certain topic, feel free to not participate.I for one enjoying discussing it.

As for why do people like me come here?.....Been asked and answered thousands of times here...Use the search function.....Or, feel free to PM me.

Why does it " bother me so much "....It does not " bother me " the way you are putting it.I am interested in the Psychological part now, more than anything, on what makes people believe in blind faith, and not evidence, or lack of it.( on any topic ).....And even believing obvious liars and frauds, that interests me.

So, I discuss these things to try to find out.

Does that help?

I think people have a hard time proving any factual basis for their beliefs so they get defensive and they take any question as a direct challenge instead of just giving it some thought.

Just saw above...

Where do I   " continually and aggressively try to force that belief on others. ".......?????????

As said, if you get upset on having a discussion, than do not have one.I am not sorry if people get their feelings hurt because I do not agree with them.

I think people have a hard time proving any factual basis for their beliefs so they get defensive and they take any question as a direct challenge instead of just giving it some thought.

Oh! Oh wow! You haven't heard the worse then, yet...have you? They're talking about making a religious cult thing out of this and making Bigfoot the Jesus Christ and mother nature his father in nature. They will also be making sacrifices in the woods, using 10% of their yearly crops and farm animals, to the divine Bigfoot and nature mother father, whatever. And it get's better, they will select a pure individual (a geeky virgin with a poison oak infection), to become a priest who will meditate on the moral instructions from nature (being one with nature, of course) and Bigfoot, that will be given the 9 commandments to carve into the great oak tree, of which the divine Bigfoot uses to scratch his hairy ass. BTW, there is actually ten, but there is not enough room on the tree for the 10th commandment, so they're saying they'll just haft memorize that one and pass it on to their children by word of mouth.

And, and...most important of all, they plan on spreading the good word of the divine Bigfoot from house to house. With pamphlets and weekend brochures that goes by the title of: Bigfoot Watcher's WatchTower.

Yeah so, I'm pretty sure your're wanting a giant asteroid to hit the Earth right about now. Anyway, just thought I'd let you know so you could contemplate on that.
Can women be ordained or is this just another patriarchy? I do have the likeness of Bigfoot on a rye cracker that I will be selling on eBay soon, along with what I believe to be Big Foot toe nail clippings and a hair ball, given to me by a shaman, who said they have great powers of healing. They all come with an authentication certificates.

- 10 on your reading comprehension.....I did start the topic, and ask the original question, so whom should I think you were talking to?

No quotes from you, I would think you are answering the OP ( me )...
