I know...I remember a news article and broadcast about the Lotto winners in the UK once.. they were nicknamed the Lotto Louts.. they blew all their big winnings on nothing but useless crap and squandered the lot within a year...only to wind up back on the dole, sponging off the tax payers again...
That's digraceful that is. How can you have any self respect to know you did that?! Could have bought a nice house, paid it off, bought a nice car each and invested some. (to give you an income) You could live happily after that going on holiday a lot, see the world etc. Then give some to charity, but actually give it to the people who need it, not the charities as they will take most of it. (Unless it's research charity, those are different)

If it's the one I am thinking of it was £9 million he won. He bought a very large house in an upper class residential area and turned the garden into a banger racing circuit for himself and his friends

Who cares what others do with their money? They earned it and have the right to spend it however they wish, that doesn't mean there is something wrong with them it just means they aren't as willing to give away their money to strangers as others.
That's not the point, the point is that it proves the majority of rich people are pretty damn vain. Which doesn't really provide the unfortunate amongst us with much hope.
